This is the kind of no-frills place that I love. At the backbone of this little spot is incredible cooking done by delightful Asian grannies. The pho broth is deep and delicious, enriching all the cuts of meat that go into the soup.the roasted chicken is gently spiced with a nice and lightly crispy skin. I’ve explored the menu some, and despite being unable to remember the names, it’s all been good.
They have plenty of food that’s grab-and-go if you don’t have time to sit.
And the ambiance is honest and, frankly, refreshing. It’s tucked away at the back of Huong Vong supermarket in the Asian plaza across from the Ford dealership in Cherry Hill. And the staff as so friendly and accommodating that the FOH staff of most restaurants could take a lesson from them.
I go out of my way to eat here.

First off atmosphere is something they can not really change being in the back of a grocery store…so that is more on Hung Vuong then Mama Ha’s. However, here are some major problems and why they get the score they get. Food overall tasted OK, and for the price it is nothing to shoot over the moon about. First thing first…WASH YOUR HANDS!!! I saw multiple times employees handling money, touch forearms to scratch, and face and noy change gloves or wash hands. I saw the “cook” (blue ballcap) go from cooking in wok, and stuck his hands into a banh mi sandwich to teach a new hire they put too much pickled daikon and carrot mix..and tossed it back into the primary mix. Guess this place has never heard of cross contamination. Beanie kid with multiple gloves on, rarely ever changes gloves and not once in over half an hour did he wash his hands, watched him scratch his forearm and went right back making sandwiches and ringing customers up. MAYBE, just maybe the owner/manager is saving money from the cost of buying gloves.
So NOW onto service….slower then a snail. They took forever to finish another customer’s 3 sandwiches, a second customer’s sandwich and a dish item, ours was the third a sandwich and a rice plate. They were not only slow, but our rice plate came out more then 5mins before our banh mi, which just sat out in the open with birds flying around the store (again not MaMa Ha’s issue), but food timing is important. Price is slightly cheaper but whatever you do…DO NOT, and I mean DO NOT get the crisp chili sauce near yhe microwave…it has gone rank and only way for you to tell is if you try it. This place needs significant amount of food safety training…also napkin box that you tossed under the table is not suppose to be on the floor. I was going to post 3 stars, but after thinking about it all…it should be lower.

Everytime I come in here I always try something different. I LOVE the Asian coffee with the coffee jellies soo good. Its always packed on weekends but it’s worth it. Hot foods that I have purchased are ao delicious and fresh. I’ve had the spring rolls pork and shrimp ive also had the casava cake. I have also tried the platter with rice and fried beef. So good! Ill keep coming back, and you also recieve points when you make a purphase. Male sure u pay in the back where the food is, I made the mistake of walking to the front and had to walk all the way back. I would recommend. Ill be trying other things…

Mama Ha’s is regular part of my Saturday to load up on food. Always a variety of summer rolls and vermicelli dishes available to go. Funny is I’ve loved just about everything I’ve had but the one I’m most obsessed with is the Xoi Ga which is just sticky rice, scallions and grilled chicken….and if my wife would allow me to just fill our fridge with this I would. Great Vietnamese coffee also!

Quick, easy, cheap eats. I usually grab these to go but this time ate here. There’s chairs and tables set up inside the supermarket if you decide to eat here. Food is always good and fresh. If you don’t want to grab one of the premade containers you can also order at the counter and they’ll make it fresh. Very convenient when you need to grab something quick after grocery shopping. Drinks are kinda pricey though. Better off running next door to kung fu tea.

They have good vietnamese foods. I got the delicious Banh Duc on the first time I bought it. However next 2 times I bought was so disgusting. The package has the time packed on, sell by and use buy. Today is 07/28 and the food is sour and smells so bad, I believe this food is spoiled and for some reason they put the new tag on it. This is the second time I got the expired food. Be careful guys.

Ordered pho and got rice noodles instead. I finished it with 4bites. The beef is not so fresh but the soup tastes not bad but just not pho taste. The table is clean.

We thought the various snacks were tasty but the prepackaged lunches were meh probably because the meat was cold. Prices in store were more than their online menu, they must have recently upped their prices again but have not updated it online.

This place used to be good before they modernize the whole operation in 2024. Bánh mì is ok and used to be good value before remodel. The smoothie here is one of the worst I ever had.
