Mama G’s is hands down probably the best Italian place I’ve been to. The food was absolutely amazing packed full of flavor and freshness. I have nothing but praise and love for this place. It is a little on the expensive side but worth it. I will definitely be back anytime I am near Clayton, GA again!

Leaving it a 5… with an asterisk. I got excited and started looking at the menu missing the RED TEXT in there. Twice. Sandwiches (subs) are not available after 3pm. Thought I’d get a steak. RED TEXT… ribeyes only available Mom-Thurs. daughter asked for a shrimp pasta dish. Server says they don’t make that till after 4pm. It was 3:45….
If you’re past that. This is why it’s a 5. Cheese bread is basically a sub roll… but it was excellent. Very light and crispy… NOT burnt at all. Marinara was excellent. My daughter did get Walmart she asked for and it was excellent. The chicken parm was baked in the bowl enough it crusted the cheese a bit. $97 for two pastas and a pizza with 3 drinks. A bit rich for me, but it was good.
I recommend it, but look for the RED TEXT in theme so you dont get annoyed.

Based on reviews, we had great expectations regarding this place. We couldn’t be more disappointed.
The service was terrible.
The food was horrible
We ordered bread sticks, we were served some fried burned dough.
I ordered Veal Marsala. The veal was tough and full of connective tissue, it was very hard to sliced and chewing.
Definitely a place that I will avoid at all cost.

Thought the Chicken Parm, side salad, & Meatballs were great.
The Chicken on the Greek Salad didn’t seem fresh, nor did Garlic Knots.
We sat in a booth near the bar, and the bartender was our server. She took our order and brought the check. Runners brought everything else, and no one check in on us.
The room was freezing & they had loud dance music playing. Both of which made having a relaxing lunch impossible.

The family agreed this was 4.5. My daughter rated her tortellini a 5. I rated my lasagna a 4.5. Hubby rated his calzone a 4 because it wasn’t as stuffed as most canzone he’s had. Service was excellent. Atmosphere could best be described as Italian meets Sports Bar.

Inattentive and Unfriendly Servers. Waiting on tables who arrived after us, lengthy delays on taking our orders, drink refills and receiving our food. We had to continually flag him down and he repeatedly ignored our requests for extra sauce for very dry pasta (see photo). Not only did we not get the extra sauce, but we also had to flag him down for our bill and then flag him down again to tell him he gave us someone else’s bill, to which he replied “You should have paid it, it’s cheaper than yours“.
Our appetizer was served by a different server, who literally stood by our table, holding the food, looking miserable, and never speaking one word to us. So uncomfortable. I finally broke the silence and asked her if she wanted us to help her put the one plate on the table.
Two out of the four of us enjoyed their dishes, while the other two left their unfinished dishes behind. Our intent was to also order a pizza to go, however, after our unpleasant server experience and waiting so long for our dinner order, we quickly changed our mind.

I don’t often think restaurants can cook as good as my wife cooks the same food. But I will say MAMA Gs is always consistent and very tasty. My wife even enjoys it and eating out is hard for us because she is such a good cook. You will not be disappointed.

Great place to eat. Great atmosphere, super good food. Excellent service. Clean and updated. Nice booths, a few tvs if you want to watch something, and very comfortable. We had the spinach ravioli and chicken Parmesan. Both more than excellent. Try the garlic rolls. We will definitely be back. Go. Try it.

Great Italian food! Our food was excellent. We had Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo and Spaghetti and it was all very good. We also had calamari for an appetizer and it was good but not great. We didn’t get any tentacles only rings. Prices are OK, not high but not low. Garlic knots that came with pasta were good. Atmosphere was nice with indoor and outdoor seating and a large bar with TVs. Will definitely go back.
