We flew a small plane into Rio’s Gilbert Field specifically to visit Mama Chaz’s and we were not disappointed. The apple pie is made here at the restaurant, and the service is excellent.

We went on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and quaint. I ordered the build your own omelet with hashbrowns and toast and was pleasantly surprised by how filling the entire meal was.
I would highly recommend this place if you are in the Rio area. Their pancake are definitely something to seek out. We will definitely be back. Note: They only accept cash or check.

Just know it’s a diner that only serves breakfast until 10:30. That was disappointing so I ordered a cinnamon roll which was more like an under baked caramel covered mess with 2″ of canned frosting on top.
