I walked over to the front register/door and made eye contact with the young lady employee, and was greeted with a smile. I smiled and greeted her the same while noting we had 2 in our party. It was explained to me she wasn’t sure of the wait time. We’d have to wait for someone to get up and grab their table. It was pretty much “First Come gets it.” But you have to watch the back door too, people wait on both sides Fortunately a table immediately opened up right next to us.
We were immediately greeted by our Server Twylah, who brought our menus and asked what we would like to drink. A short moment later, Twylah revisited us to see what we selected from the menu. We explained that this was our first time at Mama’s and needed a little more time to peruse the menu. Twylah was hustling it, greeting her tables, bringing out food, getting orders, checking back, cleaning tables, bringing close out tickets, etc.
After we placed our order, it was not long before the food came out. The place was PACKED, and the kitchen was “OnFire,” getting food out in a timely manner. I ordered way more than I usually do. I usually get Grits & Toast. This time, I ordered grits, hashbrown, cheese omlette with a side of tortillas, biscuit/gravy. Definitely had leftovers. We usually split a pancake for dessert. Everything was great! I did have a little more butter on my grits than I usually use, so I scooped it on to the pancake. But they were good. My omlette was twice the size than what I usually get in most places. My hashbrowns had just the right amount of crispiness. The biscuit was homemade and delicious. I swear that gravy was Wataburger gravy, without the sausage! I wish I would have ordered a dozen biscuits and a quart of gravy To-Go! I had leftovers but polished off the biscuit/gravy and grits.
My guy thoroughly enjoyed his breakfast. He was glad I pushed to come here. He was worried about the wait.
Twylah had brought us a ToGo container to load our leftover haul and a fresh UnSweet Tea for the road. We snacked on our breakfast leftovers for dinner after our long drive home. It was yum yum good.
When you’re done, you waddle your full happy belly up to the register to pay. We had no issues paying. It was the same young lady with her pleasantries as I paid.
If we’re back in Chicasha, we’re definitely going to come back here and ask for Twylah too
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Well, my kiddos and I walked in yesterday for brunch. No, “hello,” “how can we help you?”, not even a smirk from any of the waitresses all over the place or the front desk. After asking for a table for 3, we were told to just wait at the back door til we saw a table open up since they were pretty busy. Got a table after 5-10, got it wiped down, and ordered our drinks. Started off with just water, which was clearly gross and a coffee for myself, which was also okay. Our order was taken shortly after and about 15-20 to get our plates. One of my kiddos had the kid omelet plate and a side of sausage patties, the other had a blueberry pancake with a side of scrambled egg with cheese, and I had the Mama carols scrambler which were all tasty, kids loved it. We have ordered take out before and have had their breakfast burritos, which we have loved and really looked forward to actually dining-in, but just didn’t feel very welcoming like at all, the waitress never even came to ask how everything was, if we needed anything until after I already payed my check and asked if I would like more coffee lol. My daughter had to go to the counter and wave someone down to ask for cups of ice for her and her brothers orange juices. It was also pretty hot up in there, literally to the point where I saw a lady almost fainting at the table next to us. So I’m not sure if I’d be coming back in for dine-in, but I might give it another try just because I know the food is worth the wait. Please step up your service, happy vibes from your waitresses Mama Carol’s Kitchen & maybe just turn the A.C up just a tad bit more for all of us coming in to enjoy & support your place of business. ☕️
Pleased. Staff was friendly, offered suggestions.
Nice atmosphere.
Would give the rating a 5/5 but the food was just a bit cool for our liking. Tasted good but would have liked it warmer.
We shared the two piece catfish. Catfish was yummy. We thought the menu gave you a choice of potato, coleslaw or pinto beans. We selected a potato (loaded), added a second since sharing. Our surprise dinner came with all three so we had too much food! Shared the Oreo pie
Enjoyed. Would come back.
