Curious gem
Hands down the best spot in the area! We ordered the jjambbong and jjajangmyeon, and you can truly taste the difference with their freshly handmade noodles cooked to order. The flavors were rich and comforting, the portions were generous, and every side dish was fresh and delicious. On top of the amazing food, the owner is incredibly kind, welcoming, and makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. We’ll definitely be coming back again. 🙂

The sweet and sour pork was crispy, which is hard to do given how saucy the dish is, so I was impressed. The jjajangmyeon was delicious as well with a classic taste. Food came out reasonably quickly. Pretty decent food hall inside H Mart with many options to check out!

SO.GOOD.
The service, atmosphere and food were absolutely fabulous. Budget friendly, and the tastes of foods were a whole lot better than some of the top rated restaurants near by.
And the service? Say less. Will be my fave. Place to come back again and again

We ordered the chicken fried rice and fried dumplings. The fried rice hold an authentic smoky flavor that really stood out. It was our first time trying fried dumplings, and we loved how delicate and flavorful they were.

The service was just as great — friendly, attentive, and fast. The staff made us feel very welcome and checked in at the right times without being overbearing.

Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service.

The awesome old guy at the desk upgraded our meal from a small size to large size! Excellent food too. Incredible value, and excellent folks working there. Easily earned a good review! We’re going to enjoy our leftovers too.

Jjampong and Jjangmyun combo is my go to order at Malri Hwang when I shop at H mart.

It’s a special comfort food to have korean-Chinese noodles in my belly. The black bean noodle dish fills that longing of sweet and the spicy broth of the Jjampong gives the savory and spicy that I love.

I love sharing this dish with my kids.

Their Jajang Myeon is our top pick—the black bean sauce has a nice balance, thanks to the added vegetables. We usually go for the pork, which is our favorite. It’s a bit pricey for food court fare, but the portion size makes it worthwhile. Unfortunately forgot to take a pic of the dish!

Note on my rating scale: Sharing this for transparency, as I recognize that a 3-star review may be misinterpreted as reflecting a mediocre experience.
5 stars – Exceptional: Outstanding food, service, and/or overall experience. Truly worth going out of your way for. (For example, we frequently make the drive from San Antonio to Austin just for Uchi.)
4 stars – Very Good: Exceeds expectations in quality, service, or ambiance.
3 stars – Good: A solid experience that meets expectations. I consider any place with 3 stars or above worthy of a return visit.
2 stars – Disappointing: Falls short in food quality or service.
1 star – Poor: Not recommended.
