I came to the city for a week on a work trip and stayed very close to this place. The first night I decided to stop by, and it was a great choice — cold beer, a good burger, and excellent service. At first, it seemed like just a nice sports bar, but after trying a few other spots in the area (bad food, warm beer…), we realized this one was a gem.
The following days, we explored more of the menu — the potato chip nachos were amazing (be careful, they’re huge and super tasty, you might not be able to eat anything else!). Then we tried the grouper, a local fish, and it was a pleasant surprise — absolutely delicious.
By the second day, the bartender already remembered us and greeted us warmly, and the waitresses were always attentive, making sure our drinks were full and our experience great.
In short, great food, cold beer, and outstanding service. Highly recommended!

Was just here for a few min to get an order to go. But their bartender ashley was absolutely awesome. Very attentive and sweet. Awesome atmosphere you should come try it. The prices ate decent. Fully stocked bar and the food looks incredible.

If you live downtown and haven’t made Maloney’s Local Irish Pub a regular stop, you’re missing out.
I come here often for a reason. The bartenders are excellent — friendly, fast, and consistent. They know how to run a bar, remember faces, and pour a proper pint. Cheap, delicious beer that’s actually priced fairly, which is getting rare.
It’s an Ohio State bar, and Buckeye game days are next level. Loud, packed, and genuinely fun — the kind of energy you want, not forced or annoying. Trivia nights are another highlight: well run, competitive enough to care, but still relaxed and social.
No complaints about the food — solid pub staples that always hit. Bottom line: great staff, good beer, reliable food, and a crowd that knows how to have a good time. Exactly what a local bar should be.

My brother found this place while waiting for me at the Amtrak station. It was in walking distance, so we went and checked it out. The service was great, the food was very good. I plan on making it my go to gor food when getting off and on the train.

I went back today to Maloney’s Local Irish Pub and this time I had a Blackened Grouper Salad which was delicious. Sean waited on me this time and was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. So far I’ve had nothing but good things to say about my visits here. Keep up the Great work Maloney’s! I will continue coming back.

The food was atrocious. I ordered Shepard Pie and they brought me taco meat covered in mashed potatoes topped with a layer of nacho like melted cheese. I took one bite and pushed it away. My wife ordered fish and chips and that was barely edible as well. The beer was cold and our waitress was great but if you’re looking for anything even slightly resembling authentic Irish fare this is not the place.

Good food, but if you are looking for a quick bite at lunch, you might want to keep looking. Service a bit slow outside, but may be better inside? Food is very tasty and waitress made excellent recommendations. This is also an Ohio State fans gathering place. Might be good to come and catch a game!

Stopped in for dinner since it was minutes from the hotel. Should have walked a little further. The fish was so over cooked that I had to actually order something new because it was so inedible. Sadly the grouper bowl was just as bad. The server was always sitting with her pals even after I ordered another beer. The upside, when I did get a beer they were cold.
