I really like the concept of combining revolving sushi with bubble tea. My friends and I enjoyed the food. There was a lot of good selection of sashimi, rolls, and nigiri, and everything tasted pretty good. It was a fun and unique experience overall. The drinks were great too. For a soft opening, it wasn’t bad at all and staff were friendly

We stopped by for the last day of their soft opening. It was a snow day but the restaurant was still quite lively and filled. The restaurant was clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It’s rare to find revolving sushi restaurants outside of Japan. The concept is always cool.
There was a good variety of sushi on the belt; my favorites were the salmon-topped shrimp tempura roll and the scallop nigiri. 3.95 a plate is very fair especially for things like scallop and special rolls. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. Since it was the soft opening, the ordering tablet was partially limited, but I assume the full menu will be available soon. They are still working out a few minor kinks, but the place has lots of potential!
The bubble tea was also a highlight. Even though the tea shop has a separate entrance, we could conveniently order from our table. They gave out samples of different drinks to try, I ended up ordering the mango yakult green tea; it had a nice, strong tea flavor and was delicious.
Highly recommend! I will definitely be back after the grand opening to see what else they have to offer.

I came here on New Year’s Day and can I say WOW! I love Japan so much that I travel to Japan every year and of course I need something in between the trips to satisfy my sushi craving and I can say this place is it! this place is spacious, clean and the variety of sushi on the belt is endless. I love being able to see what I’m getting rather than ordering from the menu like typical restaurants. i also got to try the grilled yellowtail neck, which I haven’t seen in other restaurant, the owner said they only serve one to two plates per day, I feel so lucky to be able to try it. it is very buttery and melt in your mouth, cant wait to eat it again next time. the rolls on the belt I see are 3 to 4 pieces per plate, which is great because I am not getting full from just one dish. you can also order your own food on the tablet as some items are more appropriate to be ordered as fried tempura or fried chicken. They also have bubble tea and cheesecake, I feel like I can stay here for hours to try every item! The price per plate from the belt is $3.95, which is a steal for sashimi like scallops, red clams, tuna, salmon belly and much more!!! Most restaurants charge $4 PER PIECE, so this is very reasonable price. I don’t understand why people give bad review about the price, obviously you haven’t been to a good sushi restaurant because you get what you pay for. someone also mentioned that the staff is not chatty, which I think it’s personal preference because I prefer where I don’t have to talk to the staff, I grab what I want, and I order what I want from the tablet, I do not want any interaction.

Honestly, not bad to have in the area. There’s definitely room for improvement. The plates on the belt should be labeled. As an experienced sushi eater, some pieces even I can’t identify. I keep hearing people around me say they dont know what it is. Some pieces were pretty slim/small. The fish here are definitely fresh.
We ordered mostly from the menu. The variety on the belt was very limited.
The karaage was fresh but needs a bit of mayo on the side for dipping. We would come back but not frequent. For the price, I can order from a sushi restaurant with better quality and options.
We had a total of 9 plates and honestly we were not full. The total came out to be $45 with a $5 off coupon. It was the coupon that brought us in to try and I’m glad we did.

I am very happy with my experience and was quite surprised. The fish was very fresh and comparable to sushi restaurants— if not better. I would definitely come back. Prices were good too. Try the scallop!

Always love revolving sushi! My favorite was the special firecracker roll but they also had really good tuna nigiri! The karage was just fine probably wont get that again. The cheesecake was incredible I would go back just for that! Also the milk tea was great!

It was the last day of their soft opening, so we decided to check out this new revolving sushi spot that’s connected to a bubble tea shop. The interior is pretty cool—there’s a conveyor belt with sushi and sashimi you can grab, plus a tablet where you order items that come out on a little moving train.
We ordered the chicken karaage, shrimp tempura, gyoza, takoyaki, and a shrimp tempura California roll. The takoyaki was a standout, and the shrimp tempura was surprisingly soft and fluffy on the inside. From the conveyor belt, we also tried the rainbow roll and green dragon roll.
For dessert, the Oreo green tea cheesecake was unexpectedly really good—super moist and not overly sweet. I love ending a meal with bubble tea, so we got the mango yakult green tea and the orange green tea. Both were refreshing and perfectly balanced, not too sweet.
Overall, it was a great first visit for a soft opening and I’m excited to come back and try their hand rolls once they’re available.

I came here on the last day of their soft opening and left very impressed. The interior is beautifully designed, the staff was kind and attentive, and the quality of the sushi is deserving of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
Everything I had tasted fresh, and the prices are shockingly reasonable. Charging $3.95 for premium sushi like scallop nigiri is unheard of in NYC, and the amount of fish they give for that price is VERY generous. I originally came for the revolving sushi experience, but I’d happily come back just for the food. Revolving sushi isn’t really known for quality outside of Japan, but Makoto has definitely changed my perspective.
I also ordered the orange jasmine tea from Makoto Tea, which went great with my dinner. The tea was stronger than most jasmine teas I’ve had, but not bitter at all. I’m a big fan of HeyTea’s jasmine tea, but I honestly liked Makoto’s even more.
I had a great first impression of this restaurant, and I’ll definitely be back again!

Went to their soft opening between lunch and dinner. All the sashimi, sushi, and rolls from the revolving track were freshly made and tasted good. The track wasn’t as loaded as I would have liked, but I also went during an off-hour, so it may actually be a plus that they don’t leave a large amount of food circulating.
There is a tablet at the table where you can order hot foods and drinks, call a waiter, or request the check. The staff are still figuring out their operations (for example, wasabi wasn’t provided on arrival), but they were very nice and quickly got us what we asked for.
They were offering a 30% off deal for the soft opening from 12/24–12/26, which was a nice bonus. All plates from the revolving belt were $4. The seating and décor were pleasant. Everything was brightly lit, with custom art and wood panels throughout.
One thing I hope they add is the ability to order raw items from the tablet, since the revolving track doesn’t always have exactly what I’m looking for.

We liked Makoto so much that within days we all wanted to go back! The staff is so attentive and sweet. The restaurant is clean, as are the bathrooms. Most importantly, the food is fresh and quick, with the perfect portions, variety, and novelty. Especially loved the green tea mochi, green tea cheesecake, chicken karage, and shrimp tempura rolls. Even those of us who usually do not eat raw fish, were won over by the sushi here!
