I don’t really eat sushi but I do come here and eat the platters they have. The service is 10/10 such an amazing environment! I highly recommend this place. Parking isn’t bad. And you can reserve for multiple people.

Hands down, one of the best sushi places in Sacramento. The food is superb, the staff are friendly, and attentive and the atmosphere is chill and comfortable. I ordered a few different kinds of rolls and none of them disappointed. On top of all that, they have a drive through window, which keeps the door dash drivers out of the restaurant, making for a nicer sit down vibe, and if I want sushi to go, I can just scoot in through and get it to go! Truly fabulous. Thank you Makisu for all you do!

It was our first visit to Makisu, and we were immediately impressed by the positive atmosphere. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was warm and attentive. My mother chose the pepper fins, her favorite, and she was delighted by the fresh, thinly sliced sushi, which was easy to eat. She also noticed that the tuna had been seared with a blowtorch, a traditional Japanese method that added a perfect touch. I had the mixed tempura and the Baked Bay Island rolls with shrimp tempura, and they were excellent. Overall, Makisu exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to returning soon.

Have been here a few times thanks to a friend of mine for suggesting it. Each time I’ve been the food has been really good and the service too. The sushi is tasty, love the wakame salad, and the gyoza is good either steamed or fried. The spicy edamame is also really good, it’s a balanced flavor of spicy and sweet.

The restaurant is a nice size with lots of booths to sit in. Lots of parking and in a convenient location. Want to come back to try some new items.

Makisu is out go to for a quick sushi dinner. They have a drive thru which I love! I’ll place an online order and just pick it up at the window. My girls love the gyoza and my wife and have loved every roll we’ve gotten. The vegetable tempura is still crispy when we get home!

This review was made in connection with a Toast promotion.

We found the rolls little boring and oddly all four different rolls tasted kind of the same. I cannot pinpoint why exactly but we did not like this sushi much. Staff was very friendly though and service was fast. Restaurant decor was somewhat boring as well.

Our waiter was very nice and helpful in our decision making. We came here for a friends birthday lunch and were not dissapointed! We were dead set on getting a sushi boat and the boats valued at about $150 were half off that day, making the 10 rolls included less than $10 each which is amazing because the rolls by themselves were $12-16 each. When ordering drinks the waiter again brought up specials that saved us money and we still got what we wanted. Amazing food and amazing customer service!

This place looks like it is struggling and I’m not surprised. The food wasn’t bad but I won’t be back. I came here on a weekday lunch and they barely have a lunch special. It’s basically the same thing as dinner minus 90 cents. I ordered a Japanese mango cream soda costing $4.25 and it came in a plastic bottle. For that amount of money I was expecting it to at least be in a glass, I was hoping it was something specially made at the restaurant. The “rolls” consisted of 4 pieces each. Again I was expecting more here. Perhaps for the 90 cents more expensive bento box dinner you get something more impressive. I’ll never know. Many of the booths had ripped seats and when the tables were cleaned a dirty rag was left behind for about 15 minutes. The food took awhile to come out and the service was slow despite the place being empty. I waited 15 minutes after receiving the bill for the waitress to pick up my credit card before getting up to take it to her instead. For a $22 lunch for one person in a beautiful area I really was expecting more.

They have great food and a huge selection of rolls at 50% at all times. Sake selection is good, they even have a sake flight. Hands down favorite item is Jalapeno Bombs stuffed with crab.
