Makimono has grown to be my one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Last weekend I was in Atlanta visiting family and I went to Makimono twice. My favorite dish is the Makimono fried chicken. I also really love the tofu soups. Every roll I’ve tried is fantastic too.
The restaurant atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff is attentive and helpful.
My partner has some allergy restrictions and the staff was very helpful about what was available for her to eat. We can’t wait to go back.

This spot is an absolute 10/10 and a must-visit while in Atlanta! The food is incredibly satisfying—portions are generous, and every bite feels worth the price. The staff? Simply amazing! They’re not just friendly but super knowledgeable, answering all of our questions with patience and care. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, giving off cozy, homey vibes that make you feel right at ease. Plus, it’s totally Instagram-worthy! Whether you’re looking for a filling meal or a great dining experience, this place has it all. Highly recommended!

My brother ordered sushi here and said it was very good. I personally haven’t tried it yet, as the day we were at Krog I ended up getting food from another food stall.

Walked in, felt like a Japanese Film Set, great lighting.
Sat down and was recommended a fantastic roll that was fun to eat and pretty dang tasty. ie; Black Spider Roll
Then the waffles fries came, and layers of layers of meat and cheese interwoven into the fries.
Also not sure what days, but $5 margs today! Oh and our servers were not only friendly, but had a good sense of humor.

I visited Makimono and ordered a combination fried rice with chicken, beef, and shrimp and an order of spring rolls. The fried rice was quite tasty. However, when I bit into the shrimp, I realized that they were not deveined. I found this to be quite gross. I ended up picking out all the shrimp. The spring rolls were expensive for a side and just ok.

Uncomfortable experience. This was our second time coming to eat and definitely our last. One of the workers ( he’s always taking orders) is so rude its unbearable. It wasnt kist with us but with every person who approached to order. The sushi is good but for the prices they charge, not worth it.

I’ve ordered take out from here for years but just went and dined in the back room for the first time. It was such a great experience, Vicky and Nick were so kind and friendly. The service was incredible. The food was amazing (beef bulgogi stone pot and spicy tuna avocado roll) and the drinks were great too! We loved trying the Soju, lychee was the best! We will definitely be back soon!

Went there on a Saturday at 5:30. Great vibes! $5 margs, $6 mixed drinks. The food was amazing and the service was even better. Apparently the place only opens on the weekend so felt almost like an exclusive speak easy behind the bar at Krog. You walk to the left of the counter and find a super cute sushi restaurant with perfectly priced drinks and food. And no crowds! Unheard of! Will be back again

Came after biking the beltline and I got the Lion King sushi. Has to be the one of, if not the best sushi I’ve had. The texture, taste, and amount was outstanding. Definitely coming back when I’m back in ATL
