If you love sushi, this place is the place to go! Absolutely delicious! Great selection at a great price. Also the brownie, beautiful too. My friend & I didnt reserve but we got a table no problem. Its small, cozy and casual vibes. No alcohol served on site but I think you can bring wine in but perhaps talk to the owner in advance. I’m not sure how that works. Staff are very friendly too.

We had some of the nicest food we’d ever had at maki sushi last night. The prawn torpedo and gyoza starters were amazing. I had udamaki spice salmon main and my husband had fish and chips. Both were excellent. For less than €50 for both of us including drinks it was excellent value for money.

Such a pleasant surprise! A really lovely family-run place and a great welcome addition to the town. I was a bit wary as it has limited actual raw fish options and things like tinned tuna and a lot of cooked options which didn’t seem authentic but actually everything we tried was lovely. We had the crispy onion uramaki, both prawn uramakis, spicy salmon hossomaki and sweet chilli hot roll, all great and I would order all again. The salmon ceviche was nice but not so amazing, very citrusy but missed a bit of balance or other flavours. Pan fried Vegetable gyoza were also lovely and a churro dessert delicious. Perhaps considering how cheap churros are to make I’d have liked more /bigger portion but they were super. Service was great and friendly and welcoming to kids. And it’s byob so keeps price down. Four adults and a 4 year old were well fed for less than 90 euro. Great!

MAKI Sushi – Roscommon Town
If you’re in Roscommon Town and love sushi, you need to visit MAKI. My wife and I rgularly stop by. It’s a family favourite.
The restaurant is spotless, with subtle and tasteful interior design that makes you feel welcome the moment you step in. The open kitchen is immaculate, and we were greeted warmly by Leo, the friendliest guy you could meet. He and his wife started MAKI just two weeks ago, and their passion for what they do really shines through.
The sushi itself? Outstanding. Fresh, delicious, beautifully presented, and very affordable. This isn’t just a meal – it’s an experience. Our two girls loved everything and were literally licking the plates clean. Sorry we didn’t take any pics of the food, we ate everything .
We grabbed takeaway this time, but the next visit will definitely be a sit-down affair to fully enjoy the ambiance and service. MAKI is a real gem in Roscommon, and I wish Leo and his wife every success. We’ll be back with family and friends for sure!

We got lunch with the family. The food was fresh and delicious. Friendly staff. Unfortunately , there was no kiddies menu for the children, so they are from the appetizers section, which is priced more than a regular kiddies meal. Definitely would recommend.
