This was my birthday lunch, and it was exquisite, truly buonissimo.
I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for traditional Mexican cuisine reimagined with a modern touch. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by classic ‘Frida ‘ style, the hostess, who took great care of us and made us feel right at home.
Everything we ordered was outstanding.
I had the grilled octopus, served with a fresh green salad and silky potato purée , absolutely delicious. For the table, we shared Wagyu beef, guacamole with chips, ribeye tacos, and a beautifully prepared mahi-mahi ceviche.
The passion fruit margarita and the octopus are an absolute must

Our waiter Roberto was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the whole time- the table side salsa was very flavorful with the right amount of heat. The guacamole with pork rinds was very tasty too! The star of the show was truly our drinks! The jalapeño margarita and tamarind spicy margarita were so refreshing and to die for! My husband really enjoyed his pescado divorciado. The atmosphere was very enjoyable with mariachi playing around. The rooftop was really nice and good vibes. Would come here again and make sure to ask for Roberto! He’s great!

We had the Most awesome night !! I cannot stress enough how friendly the staff and management was!! The food was on Point and the drinks were made in heaven!! Jonathan (From Argentina) was I think the friendliest and most helpful of any other restaurant we have been. I give it 100 starts if I could!! We will definitely come back!! Went to Maíz y Agave on Valentine’s Day and it was fantastic.
We started with the cochinita pibil with chorizo as an appetizer and it was incredible.
My girlfriend got the fish tacos and they were amazing; fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.
I ordered the New York steak. I asked for medium rare, but it came out extremely rare. Normally I’d send that back, but it tasted so good I didn’t even care. I just kept eating it. I couldn’t stop.
To drink, we got the extra-large mango margarita. Honestly, one of the best drinks I’ve ever had, if not the best. It was dangerously good.
For dessert I had the tres leches, which was fantastic and a really nice, big portion.
The atmosphere was great. The mariachis were a nice touch; maybe a bit loud at first, but once they moved on it was easy to relax and have a conversation.
Total bill was about $160 with tax and tip included.
10/10. I’d definitely go back. Amazing food and drinks.

What truly made the experience unforgettable was our waitress, Maykell. Her service was outstanding from start to finish. She was attentive, friendly, professional, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. She checked in at the perfect times, gave great recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal.

Lorena, our server, at Maiz y Agave was great! We had Maestro Dobel Diamante passion fruit margarita and Reserva de la Familia by Jose Cuervo Reposado Neat Cocktails. By far the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. The food was incredible, but what truly made the night unforgettable was Lesnier. Excuse my half eaten plate but I didn’t have time to stop and take a picture. The Short Rib with Black Mole was delicious. That wasn’t the only good thing of the night. The house made salsa (done at your table) and the tételas were amazing too.
Neli our server was awesome. She gave us a bit of the history of the restaurant and the house mezcal. It was great to learn where the house mezcal came from. Our mezcalitas were delicious too, I had the guava and my partner had the tamarind. Neli was the best.
Definitely recommend for a date night or a night out with a small group of friends. Make sure Neli is your server. She is fun.
