Some of the best lamb I’ve ever had!! Dip it in the made from scratch white or green sauce (I liked it with the white).
The chicken, beef, and kafta were fantastic too, especially with the grilled red onions and green peppers. The chickpea salad, rice, and salad were perfect pairs on the side. I got a family platter that could easily feed 6 people!!

Usman is the owner working with his son Adam, they are good, friendly, respectful people doing honest work.

Had some phenomenal food and some phenomenal service! Huge shoutout to Adam for helping us decide on a good food option as well as providing excellent service

Pretty affordable prices, the food had such a refreshingly nice presentation, and they gave us some much extra naan bread! If you want to skip the fast food for a little more of a healthier and elevated experience, definitely come here

10/10 would definitely recommend!

I usually order the lamb kabobs, and they remain outstanding every time. This location is consistent with both flavor and portion size—reliable, generous, and well-prepared. I tried the Monday specialty on my latest visit (today), and the portion was just as substantial as a regular entrée, which was a welcome surprise. The curry offers a layered flavor profile: it opens slightly sweet, then settles into a mild, satisfying heat. Some guests complain about the spice level at this location, but this is authentic Afghan cuisine—spice is part of the experience. If someone prefers milder food, there are other options elsewhere. Maiwand Kabob should continue honoring its bold flavors rather than toning them down. In fact, I wouldn’t mind seeing the heat elevated even further.
This place continues to deliver, especially when it comes to lamb.

Delicious! I want to go try more of their dishes. The food was superbly spiced, served fresh, bread straight from the oven, (pan?) and oh so good. We had a gyro salad and the kofta kabob, which comes with rice, salad, and bread.
The restaurant was clean, staff was friendly and eager to please. Try it!

Maiwand Kabob in Lanham, Maryland, is an absolute gem, a warm, welcoming haven for anyone who loves authentic Afghan cuisine. The aromas alone promise something special, and the food more than delivers. Every bite bursts with flavor, freshly grilled and perfectly seasoned. The portions are hearty, the prices more than fair, and the hospitality feels genuine.

I ordered the Chicken Kabob, and it was simply outstanding, tender, juicy, and beautifully spiced, served with fluffy rice and naan that tied everything together. By the end of the meal, I wasn’t just full, I was happy. Maiwand Kabob is the kind of place that reminds you how good food, made with care, can feed both body and soul. Highly, highly recommended.

So I came in there with my husband. The owner was very friendly. The food was excellent. The meal portions are A wonderful size. You may have leftovers for lunch for the next day. The food is Very soft, very tender and it felt like I was eating a home-cooked meal after a long day of work. The staff was very friendly, very accommodating. They had a variety of food selection. I could not decide what I wanted to order. The restaurant was clean well kept with a very friendly family oriented environment. If anyone ever Visits Eastgate shopping center near Lanham Severn Road this is a must go to spot. Restaurant is open seven days a week until 10 pm. Tell your family and friends come on Through for this lovely cuisine. You can tell them that I sent you.

The food was amazing! We love a good kabob placr and stop for some in every country, every city we visit. We’ve had kabobs all over and this was by far top 10 for taste. The meat was large, the naan was cooked perfectly AND THE RICE!! No plain basmati here. It was flavorful. You could taste the hints of cardamom and the raisins added just a touch of sweetness. I mean we were pleasantly surprised and so we’re our tasebuds. Not to mention the staff was very pleasant. Even got to talk a little about faith and history with the owner. Support this business! My husband said he knew it was gonna be good when we opened it and the chicken was the right color! Picture shown but we had already eaten half of it! Lol

Absolute gem of a restaurant, came here with some family and we were taken aback by the massive portions and amazing hospitality. The chicken and rice platters are next level. 100% will be coming back here when I am in the dmv.

I wish I had more pictures but there is nothing left. It’s delicious!

I tried the chicken and kofta combo. As soon as I tasted the rice I knew this was going to be good. I got this flavor of cloves, cumin and coriander. There were raisin and nuts and it was buttery and rich.

The kebabs were perfect. Once again packed with flavor. I preferred the chicken kebab over the kofta. It has just a slight hint of heat but lots of flavors like the mint and yoghurt had a cooling contrast to the spices like cinnamon and cumin.

I usually am not a fan of restaurant salads in fast casual locations but this was really good. It was also a perfect accompaniment to the flavor with the spicier kebabs and rice. Even though all of this was delicious it also all felt fairly healthy too.

I definitely want to try the Naan too. My dish didn’t have it but I did see other guests getting them and they looked awesome.

Thanks and definitely see you again soon. Simple, homely and will take to you to a flavor destination- 5 stars!

I’ve eaten almost everywhere in Lanham over the years. This was a much needed addition to the community, and will likely be in my top five favorite places. The food is seasoned well. Portions seem generous.

I had lamb & beef combo, and it did not disappoint. Even the rice added to the dish. Side salad was good but it’s a salad.

The naan seems freshly made, and the mango lassi was refreshing without begin overly tart.
