A great spot in downtown Baltimore for authentic Afghan food. The kebabs were flavorful and well-seasoned, served with fragrant rice and fresh naan. Portions were generous and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit

Don’t be deterred by a 3 stat rating on atmosphere. That part is average. The food is phenomenal, and if you’re in the area don’t let yourself miss out. The shrimp tikka is the absolute best shrimp I’ve had in my life.

Good food! I came a hour before closing, scared I’d get the scraps. Thankfully, I was wrong.

The place was packed with to go orders and people waiting for their takeout.

I came from the Afghan burger but they ran out, which made me think the food must be good/popular. So I asked the guy behind the register, what he liked and he chose the chicken Tandoori.

It was flavorful and SPICY. I had to take breaks because I suck at spice but kept coming back because it was worth the dramatic ‘im dying’ interludes.

I visited Maiwand grill while traveling for work, and the food significantly exceeded my expectations. The restaurant is an unassuming fast casual style restaurant which makes it a good spot for lunch or a quick dinner. I ordered the chicken and lamb kabob platter with salad and rice, and a side of hummus. Everything was top notch, the meat was perfectly cooked, rice was authentic and the hummus was the best I’ve had in the US. Delicious food, a must have in Baltimore…I’ll definitely be returning!

Absolutely wonderful service. Our organization (MSSA at University of Maryland Baltimore) got catering from here. They were very quick and accommodating. They helped us pick the choices they thought would be best and also gave us extra food and dessert. If we needed anything they were able to provide for us. We asked them for plates and they provided plate and anything that we needed was completely accommodated. absolutely would recommend for any catering event as well as any outing because the food is absolutely amazing.

Yall…. If you like this kind of food… u will LOVE this place. Literally everything was fantastic. We got samosas (pretty good and standard), salmon entree (amazing), lamb kabob entree (amazing), fried cauliflower (amazing), lentil curry (amazing), and hummus (super good). I would order all of these again ten more times

The food was really delicious and flavorful. I ordered the Kid’s Chicken Kabob with potatoes, which came with Sprite on the side. The meal was made with care and thoughtfulness. I would definitely recommend this place

I ordered uber eats, everything was delish! I got the raviolis aushak , beef samosas, chicken bowl, sabzi spinach, and baklava. Ravioli was so interesting, crunchy scallions inside and creamy sauce with a tomato sauce of some sort. Samosas were great (wish the chutney was spicier), and my chicken bowl was very good.

I kind of wish the hummus for my bowl was more on the side rather than poured on top, just a note to ask for that if you prefer. Haven’t tasted the other two items yet bc I was so filled up by the rest. So many flavors!

This place is fantastic! The food is super high quality, great portions and surprisingly inexpensive (I bought 3 meals, a side of Kadu (pumpkin) and Hummus and after tip and tax it was still only $66! I Love the Kadu- sweet and savory. I love the Lassi drink, and I keep coming back for the Lamb and Chicken kebab combo. Their rice is amazing, aromatic with just enough veggie and I believe golden raisins maybe? To have great flavor and texture. The Hummus was really nice and fresh too. I come to Baltimore for an event at the Lord Baltimore hotel every March and I Never miss eating here at least once while I’m local!

LOVE THIS PLACE. I arrived at 11:45am hungry and tired from an all-night flight from Central America. Food was awesome, staff was friendly, owner very congenial, restaurant was clean, severs and cooks were a happy bunch, seems like owner treats them well, they all seemed to get along nicely. I didn’t feel unsafe in the area, and I was on foot, no transportation. I will definitely go back!! No doubt!!!
