Our waitress was fantastic! She was so great at answering questions!
They were also out of crabs, clams, and oysters, which is disappointing for a seafood restaurant. The saving grace was the surf and turf — the lobster was delicious and cooked perfectly, and drinks were flavorful.
Overall, the service and surf & turf were solid, but a seafood restaurant without the main seafoods and a questionable gumbo leaves a bit to be desired.
Then we get to the food and its kind of just normal? Nothing to write home about. Calimari was pretty standard, very light. Cole slaw was tasty, New England chowder was okay, but the clams and potatoes inside were nice and soft. The baked potato was quite good and the sour cream was very dense and creamy. The bread was okay; it’s giving… sandwich bread? A little expensive for the lobster, but it’s lobster at market price (which at the time of review, the lobster sandwiches were $32.99, yikes). A lot of the food I ended up having to add back in a lot of salt and pepper, which I guess is fine, but otherwise the food tasted rather bland. The lemon drop cheesecake, though, now that is a worthy dish that is worth every penny.
If I were to go again, I’d recommend to get something other than the lobster sandwich, perhaps something with more ingredients to really bring the taste in.
Lobster meat was so overcooked that it was dry and sawdusty. Seafood stuffing completely ruined. The fish had a nasty taste. Steamers were fine, but they didn’t give you clam broth with it. They gave you clear water gross. The crab chowder had so much corn in it. That it tasted like corn chowder . The oysters were not even shucked off of the shell and no oyster juice left, they dumped all the juice out. That’s not how you do oysters. not worth the money, considering everything cost almost $250. Suppose to be a seafood restaurant, not even close. And I’ve been to a lot of them. I give it 2 out of 10.
Hey the water was good
Food was yummy
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Looking forward to another visit
I ordered the fried seafood combination platter with clams and oysters, with the side of their clam chowder. The clam chowder made me take a step back and truly enjoy the freshness of the clams. The platter was overwhelming and amazing, truly an experience.
I will add this establishment to my list of places when I traveling. Give them a try if you’re in the mood for seafood. Let them wow you like they did for us tonight.
