Server was great. Did everything in a timely manner. We had a pineapple express drink and a appletini , they were both great. We had the Collard dip (room temp) and fried pickles. The dip we ate because we were starving, wonderful flavor but being room temp it was not as good as it could’ve been, not servers fault. I got the ribeye, it was not seasoned. It seems as though it was steamed when cooked. All in all I give this restaurant a 5.5 outta 10.

Stopped by for lunch and ordered the cheesesteak and patty melt meals. The fries were perfectly crispy, and the cheesesteak was packed with meat on fresh, soft bread—definitely a winner. The patty melt was cooked to order and tasted great. The pricing was reasonable for two meals with drinks, and the service was excellent. This was my first visit, but I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Great place for tavern style food. Not starving and not too adventurous I showed up. The server was prompt and good with people. Food was quick and the portions exceeded expectations. I had the pimento cheese burger and was happy that it had plenty of it’s namesake. The burger was juicy and well cooked and the fries that come with it were delicious and battered just like I like. Ordered a side of Mac and cheese and got a Mac and cheese dinner and it was thick and had a perfect bite to the macaroni instead of the usual limp noodle. Very good for a non baked Mac. Paid right above twenty before tip but couldn’t finish my sides. Sweet tea filled in any extra space. Great place local place. Loved the “Go to the Tavern or the devil will get you” shirts

Been here several times been meaning to give my opinion of the restaurant. We went on a Tuesday night. Place was already rolling. Yet they have plenty of seating and we got in and got seated. Our waitress was on the ball and very attentive and very friendly throughtout our whole stay. The atmosphere is good. As I said plenty of seating and a nice bar area. They have a diverse drink selection yet don’t be afraid to ask for a drink that may not be on the menu the bartenders are very knowledgeable and very good at what they do. The food was cooked well. Not a big lemon pepper wing fan. But I tried one of my daughters and was very well pleased. The fries are amazing. I plan to go back and try some more of the different flavored wings. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly. The Creole rice I was in love with. For me it could have been a tad more spicy. I live for spice so for me the spicy the hotter the better lol. Definitely plan to be back again soon.

As we were going to be driving through Montevallo about lunch time, I checked out this restaurant online and we decided to go there. It was not good. Our server was pleasant, but she did not communicate well and was not knowledgeable about what was done at her own restaurant. I wanted to have a meat with some vegetables but preferred the chicken tenders over the fried chicken plate. I asked if it were possible to get the chicken tenders without the french fries and then just add two vegetables. She said that would be possible with just a small upcharge. I also asked her if they breaded and fried their own okra. She said that they did. So I ordered the okra and the macaroni and cheese along with the chicken tenders. What I ended up getting was a chicken tender basket with all the french fries that I did not want. And instead of a lunch portion of vegetables, I got a huge bowl of very bland and tasteless macaroni and cheese and a large basket of greasy fried okra. And they do not bread their own okra. It is brought in frozen and then fried. My husband had the chicken lunch plate with two vegetables. His food was also bland. The gravy for the mashed potatoes was terrible.
What made it worse is the man who said he was the manager came over to ask us how our lunch was. We told him that it was not exactly what we asked for, and that it was not very good. The entire time he was talking to us he had his hands in his pockets and then just kind of shrugged his shoulders and walked on. No offer of doing anything different for us.
So instead of paying for a lunch plate, which would include my chicken tenders and two vegetables, I was charged for an entire chicken tender basket and then $8.00 for two vegetables that were not good. This was not an “small upcharge”. Obviously, if we are in Montevallo again, we will choose a different restaurant.

Yummy yummy yummy!!!!! Few changes to the menu but still soooo yummy!!!! Fried Green Tomato Chips are a MUST and you can’t go wrong with Collard Green Chicken!!!!!
