I took a trip to Smithfield to visit family and decided to stop in on my way back home… at first I was a bit skeptical but the young lady in the front was attentive, patient and nice. I ordered a chicken salad (small), cheese burger w/ fries and mozzarella sticks ! Everything was yummy! Especially the salad… the only thing I didn’t like was it wasn’t diverse and at first felt very uncomfortable but the lady in the front made us feel more comfortable

Attentive and quick service. A pretty extensive menu with everything you expect from a main street diner. Portions are good without being overwhelming. Another restaurant proving that local is better than chains. I had the chicken fried steak with brown onion gravy lunch special and enjoyed my meal.

Main Street Restaurant is a good little mom and pop style restaurant. The food is good with fair prices. Now the downfall is the place is dated and not very clean. The last time my family went there to eat when I grabbed a high chair for my child all the high chairs were dirty. The floor not swept like it should be. So that makes me wonder if the kitchen is clean as it should be. Other then that I love there country fried steak as well as there main street burger.

I am so happy that I came across this place! I was in the area along with a colleague for a photo-shoot, and afterwards we wanted to try something local. We picked Main Street and were not disappointed! They make an incredible steak! The sides were equally pleasing. The wait-staff were friendly and efficient, offering suggestions to us since we hadn’t been here before. We will stop here again when we’re in the area!

Country ham biscuit was on point. The grits were a little buttery for my taste..but that didn’t stop me from finishing them! Great service, great value!

Good locals spot. Booths line the window seats. Sweet tea served in tall red Coca-Cola cups. Local business advertisements and bright pictures of Mediterranean destinations decorate tables (Greek owner). Pick up a copy of Smithfield Times outside front door.
