Everything about the Ice Cream parlor is delightful…the food is always fresh, the owners and their daughter are always pleasant and wonderful to visit with. The atmosphere takes you back in time…I enjoyed a quiet solo breakfast while I had some work to focus on and left feeling happy, full and peaceful, something about the creaking wooden floors make you feel like you are stepping back in time and allows you to slow yourself down a little. Helena’s boutique upstairs also always has something beautiful to offer…I highly recommend stopping for a visit.

It’s so refreshing to have a nice sit down meal and the hamburger is done to perfection. Brought the grandchildren and the kid menu has a great selection. Boys got the chicken tenders and WOW it was made from fresh chicken breast, grilled and juicy. The soup of the day was shrimp and lobster bisque and plenty of shrimp and real lobster was in it. There is also a nice of ice cream as well as candy and gifts located on one side of restaurant and upstairs.

The food, service, and atmosphere were superb! We ate outside in a shaded area with our dog. The server was so nice and accommodating. I has the chef’s salad which was filled with fresh turkey, ham, veggies, and was delicious. The turkey is made there and is perfect. My husband had fish chowder and a crab cake that he said was outstanding. We purchased a whole pie, I believe it’s berries and peach, to take home with us. The pie has a crisp crust, lots of delicious fruit filling, and is huge! We are looking forward to returning soon!

This place is the most awesome establishment I’ve visited in a long time. The food was absolutely the best I’ve had, and the ice cream is out of this world. The staff is very courteous and happy. They make your experience a real pleasure. My family and I returned the next day for breakfast, and they didn’t disappoint. They also have a gift shop attached to the restaurant and it is very reasonably priced.

Very busy here, but really good food, and a fun atmosphere. It’s interesting to find a seat near lunch time because it is so popular.

Just out of curiosity I had to go read why some people gave this place fewer than 4 stars. Get a grip, folks. Great sandwiches. Shakes to die for. Fantastic nostalgic decor. Way cute place with a hard working staff who, ok, get stretched a little thin when the place is busy. Is there some kind of rush when you’re in the mountains!?
The food doesn’t look like it was “plated” by a food net chef – it’s simply appetizing, tastes great, and pleasantly served.
The nostalgic decor – old soda fountain/diner is very fun. There’s an enormous gift/clothing/jewelry shop upstairs. The side yard has Adirondack chairs and picnic tables for sitting around with an ice cream cone. The building itself, on national historic register, is worth checking out.
Well done, folks!

Kinda like The Silo and Papa’s Diner. Great food, and fancy casual atmosphere with a gift shop
My travel ambassador friend says it’s the only restaurant that gets everything right, including the soup temperature.
