Main Street Grill

One of the best pieces of advice that any season traveler can give is that when you are looking for the best place to have a meal, eat where the locals do. If there is any truth to that dictum, The Main Street Grill is the best meal in town. If you are looking for a place to grab a hearty breakfast before starting off on your day trip up the PCH, this is the place to go. While the traditional fare of pancakes and eggs may suit some, I recommend the Main Street Special of eggs with diced Italian sausage, ground beef, spinach, mushrooms, onions and herbs. After that kind of start, you will be ready for anything.A local institution for the past 23 years, this is a restaurant with character to spare.

Long-running, old-fashioned diner serving classic American breakfast & lunch dishes.

Wow! The portion are huge so you get a lot of bang for your buck. The food is delicious. I had the French toast and was just expecting regular French toast, I was pleasantly surprised! Highly recommended!

Excellent brunch spot. Conveniently located, not extremely busy (still a 15-20 minute wait), and good, reliable food. Eggs Benedict never disappoints. Authentic, homey diner feel!

Love this place! Well worth the drive from SF. My favorites are the Mexican benni and corned beef hash. Both are absolutely Divine!! The servers are really nice. Plus it’s a sweet area with cute shops with interesting things. Really nice to walk around the area after a delicious breakfast.

Traditional old-fashioned American diner with good prices for hefty portions. Practically everything on the breakfast menu comes with your choice of toast, eggs, and potatoes. The omlette looked enormous! Upon further inspection, it wasn’t technically an omlette because the sheet of egg was laid on top of the (mountain of) fillings, rather than wrapped around it, but who’s splitting hairs on technicalities, here? Still tasty and generous portions. The sourdough french toast is made from fresh bread they get from the bakery down the street. This dish, too, doesn’t technically qualify as what they call it, because it didn’t seem like it was actually soaked in egg batter. If it was, it had to be briefly dipped in a very light batter. So the result is it tasted more like TOAST than FRENCH TOAST, but still good!
