We stopped by Main Street Family Restaurant to have lunch the other day. Ran into a few people that we knew there, always nice to see familiar faces. We didn’t have to wait too long despite how many cars were in the parking lot. It’s definitely a popular spot to have lunch.
We noticed that there were a lot of waitresses and plenty of employees which was refreshing to see! I appreciate it how friendly the waitresses were.
We only had to wait maybe about 10 minutes before our food was delivered to the table. The fries were pretty good and so was the chicken and rice soup. The chicken sandwich didn’t look anything like the picture but it looked like they did take a chicken breast, slice and in half, bread it, and then fry it. It was really thin but it still tasted good.

We there with my son on my Birthday. We both had the Double Bacon Cheese Burger with and a bowl of Chicken and Dumplings soup. All was fantastic great service friendly environment seemed as if everyone greeted each other when they came a ton of regulars that is a very good sign that the food was going to be good and it was. I would definitely recommend the restaurant to friends and family. Thanks again for a fantastic meal.

Is Main Street a mainstay?

Word-of-mouth brought me and my dad to trying this place out on a cold and blustery Saturday morning. He had heard good things and I had heard the same so we figured to see what we thought of it.

It wasn’t too busy when we arrived and we were told to take a booth to our right. We sat down to a half-full but bustling restaurant. We got our menus and drinks promptly and started poring over the menu. My dad went with his usual country fried steak skillet-style meal and I went with a basic stack of pancakes and bacon.

The vibe of the place was a generic blend of diner and family restaurant. Nothing really stood out to me that was unique besides this US Veterans table we were next to. I didn’t get to snap a photo as they just cleaned it off and were about to sit down another group of people that just walked in.

The waitress brought out our food and accidentally brought us a muffin instead of my bacon but was super quick to swap the two.

Looking at my food and the price I paid and looking at my dad’s food and the price he paid, I was instantly jealous he got so much more food for about the same price. The pancakes were large and plentiful compared to some places I’ve been and the bacon were long strips and not shriveled up and almost cooked too long.

So why the mid rating? The waitress and staff overall weren’t all that friendly. They weren’t unpleasant by any means but the friendly chatting and banter you normally get at a restaurant was lacking here. There didn’t seem to be a lot of mingling and cohesion to the staff that you see at most other restaurants. It was weird and if not a bit mechanical feeling. I’m not the most extroverted of people but a little bit of banter or chatting with the server is usually a plus.

But most importantly is the food. How was it? Serviceable. The pancakes, even with the butter spread on it and plenty of syrup, were lacking a big punch of wow. Granted, it’s just pancakes but I’d prefer to eat pancakes at a restaurant that don’t feel like something I can make at home. The bacon was super tasty though. Just a bit disappointing that 3 strips were $3.99. My pops said he enjoyed his meal but it wasn’t anything to write home about. I did try a small chunk of his country fried steak and it was decent, if not a bit overly crunchy/burnt on the steak portion.

Overall, not a bad time with my dad but I just wish my meal wasn’t lacking that punch for $12. I’d definitely come back and try a lunch item to see if that provides the oomph that eating out provides versus eating at home.

Myself and team were in Creve Couer today. Main Street is the type of family restaurant that I love visiting when out of town. Great food, fair price, and phenomenal service from Summer our server. Highly recommend.

Amazing took us a total of less than a minute to get sat down, 4 minutes to get our order taken, 14 minutes to get our food to the table and the food was exactly what we wanted! Despite them being slammed and juggling multiple orders at once they managed to do an amazing job!

We had a very lovely waitress who is super attentive and thoughtful she made a priority to check in and make sure everything was correct with our order even being very accommodating of someone showing up late.

The food was very good and decently priced as well!

Everything pictured was outstanding in taste, the hotcakes were perfect, the gravy was perfect and the omelet was fantastic. I know now why the place is so packed all the time when I go to the car wash.

Brooke cheerfully greeted us as we walked in for lunch. The lunch specials are excellent! The prices are very reasonable and the portions are great also. I chose the chicken pot pie. We’ll be back soon to try more selections from their extensive menu including breakfast all day. Great dining experience!

Their food is great. The biskets and gravy skillet was amazing. However, despite claiming to have homemade pies, I saw only a couple that were really homemade and the rest were crappy GFS Chef Pierre. Gotta take a star away for the pies.
