What a fantastic experience, hands down some of the best food I have ever eaten. We had the tasting menu and I cannot get over the level of detail and flavour that came with each dish, the hole meal was a real triumph prepared perfectly and presented beautifully, all topped off with some remarkable wines selected by our gracious host.
The team at Le Cottage Restaurant went above and beyond, looking after our every need, particularly our home made Guinness brown bread presented to us on the evening.
I can honestly say that our visit with Doug, Axelle and team was the highlight of our holiday, and we are counting down the days until we can return.
A 5 star experience that I will be recommending to any friends travelling your way.
Merci

We still cannot get over how good our meals were!
We were absolutely delighted with the quality of the food. The chef made the most amazing guinness and treacle bread. The host provided fantastic wine selections. We tried many different dishes and couldn’t fault one.
Thank you to the owners for their top class hospitality. We will definitely come again.

We had a wonderful meal at this charming restaurant. We’re traveling with two small children, and it’s easy to feel awkward. The hostess and staff were incredibly friendly and put us at ease. The food was the best dinner we’d had since our two-and-a-half-week vacation in France. Excellent value for money. Everything we chose was delicious! We were so happy to try the radishes with the tuna, paired with melon. So wonderfully sweet and refreshing! They use a lot of local products, which I always consider a plus. This is where you want to eat! Best of luck with your restaurant, and compliments to the chef and crew.

Le Cottage is unmissable. It’s fine dining with the welcoming ambience of eating at your friend’s table. The food is first class and everything is homemade. For us, the food was Michelin star quality and we are already planning a return visit. It’s impossible to pick a favourite dish from what we tried. They were all exceptional. It’s the small touches which make this restaurant so special. The amuse bouche to whet your appetite for what is to come. The effort made by the host to advise a wine to suit our tastes. The homemade bread. Even the coffee came with two little homemade chocolates to finish off a perfect meal. The best surprise is the bill. It was actually less than an average brasserie on the seafront but this is a meal you won’t forget for a lifetime.

Warm welcome at Le Cottage. The food was excellent, delicate amd not pretentious. The tomato starter was a perfect example of what the combination of high quality local product and a talented Chef can accomplish. The beef main course, which I enjoyed blue, was deliciously melting under the palate.
Special mention for the team for navigating the challenging food allergy list of one of our party members. No fuss, but focus of making sure this person would equally enjoy the experience.

So pleased we made the effort to walk away from the noisy seafront and dine at Le Cottage. The food is Michelin star worthy but without the fuss you sometimes get in such restaurants. Soothing, comfortable atmosphere accompanied by friendly, relaxed service. Outstanding!

We spent a wonderful evening at Le Cottage. The food was excellent- full of flavour, beautifully presented, and great value for money. We also got to enjoy a gorgeous bottle of white Crozes- Hermitage that complemented the local seafood and fish dishes wonderfully. The service was perfect- friendly and efficient without ever being overbearing. Highly recommended!

Le Cottage Royan is an excellent, if not the most excellent, to have a glass of (guess what: excellent) wine while enjoying some side food. (You should try their truffles croque Monsieur which are addictive)
The service by Diego is really friendly, sincere and attentive, i can only strongly recommend them.
Please know they have 2 and the other one is as good as this one.
Prices are also surprisingly worth. For 3 bottles of wine and almost all we wanted to eat we paid 38 euros per person. (But you can easily be under 20 if you are moderate)

Very disappointed in general and the food was expensive for the quality of the cuisine. However most disppointing was the unfriendly waitress who could not afford a smile. A very akward experience and not to be repeated as far better options elsewhere.

How nice to find such a wonderful restaurant so close to where we live. The chef is gifted, each dish is better than the last, and the serving staff are attentive and a pleasure to deal with. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends, bravo!!
