We recently moved to Ottumwa and were welcomed with open arms the moment we walked through the door at Main Street Donuts. The owners were so kind and took the time to show my daughter the train button (if you don’t know what that is — you need to go!). She was absolutely delighted and grinning the rest of our visit.
We chatted with the owners and several friendly locals, and for the first time, we truly felt the warm spirit of our new town. Oh, and the donuts? Hands down delicious — you can taste the love (and the perfect amount of sugar!) in every bite. The coffee was hot and perfectly brewed, and my daughter was even treated to ice cream at 8 a.m., which completely made her morning.
The owners are genuinely some of the sweetest people — they know their customers by name, their favorite donuts, and make everyone feel like part of the family. We’re already planning to make Main Street Donuts a weekly tradition. It’s more than a place for treats — it’s a place full of heart. ❤️

A great town donut shop with amazing donuts. As I was waiting in line people kept coming in the door filling the small shop. I normally do not like donuts, except that this place was close by while I was stopped. I am so glad I did. These donuts are absolutely delicious. The perfect amount of soft with chewy and the frosting does not taste store bought. I was thoroughly impressed with the respectfullness of the ladies behind the counters serving customers politely and patiently. I give this small town donuts shop top marks for all of this. I am rarely impressed these days. Good job!!!!

I had Scratch Filipino at Main Street Donuts and it was delicious as usual! I ordered the beef pho with dumplings- hot, fresh and perfect amount of spice! Fantastic!
