Checked this place out on the recommendation of a friend and after reading the reviews online I admit we were a little skeptical. We were presently surprised.

mai thai is great for large groups. the food isn’t the *best* thai youll ever have but its great value for the money with a variety of classic thai curries, rice and noodle dishes, and entrees.

I went to Mai Thai on an evening and it was relatively busy. I like the atmosphere and ambiance as a whole with both an indoor and outdoor area. I got the Pad Thai and found it to be relatively average, good but not great. I also felt that the service was not very personable which contributed as well.

Food is decent however the service was seriously bad. I am not sure if we caught them on the wrong day or if it’s a usual norm for them. Server was rude. I don’t think I want to go back again

Had drunken noodle and basil eggplant, both dishes were superb – chicken, eggplant and noodles were all tender and the sauces were yummy!

The Basil Duck was unbelievably wonderful. The food is excellent. The service to start is very pleasant, but serving dishes was “perfunctory” as described by one of our party. For those who care, the sound level was unpleasant. My party of 3 was of a certain age, we had to leave to carry on a conversation. We all agreed that we might well have ordered another round of beverages and perhaps more food, but we were driven out by the decibels. Rational on the part of the resto, I suppose, they would make more $from a fresh table than our possible marginal addition to the meal.

Very delicious food in Georgetown. Menu contains many vegetarian dishes and has something for everyone. Georgetown itself is a great neighborhood with beautiful architecture and great restaurants and shops. You can relax wonderfully by the water and just relax.

So delicious!!! The staff was amazing and go for happy hour to get *strong* cocktails and amazing appetizers for awesome prices. Right in the middle of tons of shops and beautiful historic buildings. A lot of charm in this area. No need for a reservation, even at happy hour it was pretty easy to get a table. Definitely worth a visit!
