Mai Pen Rai – Best Thai Restaurant in Town!

Absolutely one of the best Thai restaurants in town! The food quality is outstanding, especially their excellent Veg/Vegan options — full of authentic flavors and perfectly prepared.

The prices are very reasonable for the portion size and quality. On top of that, the staff service is exceptional — very friendly, attentive, and welcoming.

We truly enjoyed our experience and will definitely return.
Highly recommended!

Loved this place so much visited twice in one week. The drunken noodles and Pad thai were fantastic, but the Green curry was best I’ve ever had. A total paradise for Thai lovers and spice seekers.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner here while on vacation. We had the garlic wings as an appetizer. They were deliciously seasoned without adding any of the sauces. Our entrees- green curry with pork and holy basil stir fry with shrimp were absolutely fantastic. The flavors and spice levels exceeded our expectations. This place is definitely one I would return to. We began eating before we remembered to take pictures!

Their food was delicious
Get the crispy garlic wings as an appetizer. They are so flavorful and just right!
The Holy basil drink was refreshing.
The Prik Khing Curry with a level 3 spice was just right for me, and my friends drunken noodles were on point as well.

Nice space, nice vibe, nice servers. I went in the evening on a Monday night and it was pretty busy. There was a bit of a wait time to get a table and in between being served, but the food and drinks were worth it!!!

Overall a very pleasant experience! The servers were wonderful, attentive, caring and accommodating. The restaurant is very comfortable and aesthetic. The food was delivered at a fast pace and the value we found was overall fair. We would return here! The food was just slightly underwhelming but still flavorful and enough for us to return and try something new. We ordered the Beef appetizer, Pad Thai with Shrimp and the Cashew Stir Fry (which is not a typical stir fry). Parking I don’t think is available right outside the restaurant. We walked there from La Placita.

Hands down my favorite Thai food place in PR. OMG, love me the drunken noodles and my husband loves the ultimate spicy chicken Mai Pen rice. We moved to PR 2 years ago and one thing we’ve miss about the East Coast (where I grew up) was the good axx food! From NYC, CT, especially New Haven—to Mass, the food never disappoints and bob I missed it. But anyhoo, finally found something for my tastebuds!

Ate dinner with our family of four this evening. We arrived and were told the wait would be approximately 30 minutes- not a problem. While we are waiting on the bench at the front of the restaurant, my wife and I notice two empty seats at the bar and decide to get a pre-dinner drink. As we approach the bar, the bartender yells at us to wait. We find this odd but assume he simply wants to clean the area from the last two customers who were sitting there. I then attempt to scan the QR code to get the cocktail menu and he yells even more aggressively for us to wait. He then barks at us about whether we’ve already been seated and by whom to which I explain that we simply wanted to get a drink while we wait at the front of the restaurant with our kids. His response is to yell at me that “ that’s not how we do it here-do you understand?” I said I didn’t understand and he muttered something under his breath in Spanish. At this point we would have left but it was late and our kids were hungry so we didn’t have much of a choice. In fairness, our waiter was very nice and the food was ok. Needless to say we won’t be returning and can’t recommend after our experience with the clown bartender. If you do end up here stay away from the bartender who wears glasses and is covered in tattoos- he doesn’t belong in the hospitality industry!

Wide vegetarian options. They have VERY customizable menu to accommodate dietary needs. We were a group of 5 vegetarians and we all got amazing food. The lemongrass salad was super flavorful and refreshing.
The only complaint is about wait time. Between getting a table assigned, ordering food and getting our food to the table, we waited almost 90 mins! Highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time, preferably previous day.

Good spot, great service and amazing food. Attentive service. Mónica was our waiter.
We ordered the Fish Cake for appetizer and for a meal the Chicken Pad Thai and BBQ Pork Drunken noodles. Good portion, very tasty and medium spicy (the meals). We loved it!
