My son and I like to meet for lunch at MAI Japanese Restaurant in Ayrsley. We enjoy the spicy rolls combo, which is spicy tuna, salmon and yellowtail. It is a lot of food for $20. The service is always good and the sushi is delicious.

I work nearby and I can’t believe I never knew this place was minutes away. I dined here this evening and enjoyed a delicious teriyaki chicken and steak plate, and must I say, I am completely satisfied and grateful for the food taste and quality, the service provided, and the overall atmosphere. I have not had great and affordable Japanese food that is local in a long time, but this place restored my faith! Thank you MAI! I can’t wait to return 🙂

The healthiest Japanese food I have ever eaten! The steak was perfect, chicken was golden and perfect! The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection! I was able to add a little seasoning to my pallet! Rice is a must have. Not American-ized! Perfect balance! I am very surprised. If you want traditional fast food, not your place. Felt like a tier 1 establishment for average price!

While the service is very friendly, the tables being constantly sticky to the point you can’t even pick up a menu kind of kills the vibe for me.
I ordered the chicken entree, but I couldn’t even eat half of it. The rice was okay, but the carrots and peas were clearly from a bag and super soft so the texture of each bite was off. The chicken and vegetables were overcooked and had almost no seasoning, while the carrots were obviously from a can and extremely sweet, opposed to the savory flavors from everything else on the plate.
It’s a shame because we’ve eaten here twice before and really enjoyed it on those occasions.

5/14/24 first time here. Very nice place, clean. I ordered steak n salmon hibachi with veg n side order noodles. Everything was cooked really well, good texture. Steak too done for me. But I think they rely too heavily on their yum yum sauce, which is excellent, by the way. But the food has no flavor. it’s bland.
