I have been there a few times. Most importantly, the service is good, and the waitstaff are friendly. I felt welcomed. The prices are reasonable, and the facilities are well-kept. It is certainly one of the better local pubs in town. They also make a decent cocktail. The food left a little to be desired… a group of friends tried a variety of items (crabby fries, pizza, shrimp, I think the fish & chips- some sort of fried fish- and something else I can’t recall). Consensus was that it was okay, just not much flavor. Still, when you consider all factors, they’re a solid choice, and I feel like there was overall value. According to their website, it looks like they will have a new menu coming soon, which I will go back to check out. I’d say, for now, it’s a good spot to grab a drink or two and an app.

March 3, 2024 – Enjoyed lunch with friends at Former Mayor Jennifer Dougherty’s new pub. . . Magoo’s ! Long time acquaintances of J. D. and recall her 1st restaurant, “ Jennifer’s “ ( 1987 – 2008).
She’s opened Magoo’s on West 2nd Street in 2009, similar Irish ☘️ theme, a bit smaller. The menu has several familiar items, with more salad & sandwich options!

Our server, Meghan, was delightful & quick on the drink orders. Food served within 15 minutes . . . Our friends ordered a chopped salad with chicken, bacon. avocado, tomatoes, and bleu cheese & Reuben sandwich ( corned beef, melted provolone cheese, 1000 Island dressing, and cole slaw) which they loved! My wife ordered the salmon w/ lettuce, tomato, onion sandwich; I ordered the quesadilla with chicken, onions, cheese, and mushrooms. Both were excellent!
Not sure Magoo’s has live music? They do have Whiskey Wednesday tastings, which includes dinner . . . $75 per person. If you like to travel, Magoo’s offers trips to Europe (eg. Portugal , Ireland, Scotland). It’s gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day ☘️! You might try the Guinness Stew, very good over at the old “Jennifer’s”!
I read many of the reviews, sad to see so many negative reviews on rudeness. Doesn’t sound like the Jennifer we knew years ago! As Jennifer walked around to greet her clients, my wife and I found her to be very polite & easy to converse

The shepherds pie was excellent. We visited for lunch on a Saturday and there was no wait. The atmosphere was comfortable and pleasant. I look forward to visiting Maggo’s again.

5 stars because this is one of those special home-y hole in the wall places that you always hope you run into. The food is delicious bar grub, the vibe is super fun, the service is super friendly, and I’ll be thinking about what a nice time I had here for awhile. (We got the fried shrimp, chicken pot pie, and crab dip)

Stopped in Fredrick’s for the night and where I am staying suggested Magoo’s for some Irish grub. I has the Bangers n Mash and they were amazing. Also had a great Belgian Ale, I think I just found my favorite beer. Had a nice time on the patio too.

Went for lunch. Wife had the fish sandwich, while i had the fish and chips. Food was average, but I loved that my chips were served with vinegar. The service was very friendly.

My gawd a real Irish pub and someone who can pull a pint of the dark stuff. The fish n chips was pretty good too, but thick and crunchy.
