Salad and bread came out quickly and the salad bowl was ice cold. Bread was delicious.
Ordered pasta and meat sauce and it was piping hot and cooked perfectly.
I’m picky about pizza but was shocked at how big the personal size was (definitely didn’t need the pasta, too!) and it was absolutely solid.
Best part? My entire meal (salad, bread, pasta, pizza) was $28 and some change. Absurd value for what they gave me.
Give them a try, my sense is that the negative reviews are pretty extreme outliers.
I opted for the Philly steak and cheese, and it was fantastic. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the cheese was perfectly melted. It was a generous portion, and I left feeling very satisfied. My friends also enjoyed their meals, which ranged from pasta dishes to pizza, and everyone seemed pleased with their choices.
What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service. Our waitress was incredibly attentive, friendly, and efficient. She made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us regularly without being intrusive. Her positive attitude really enhanced our dining experience.
Overall, I highly recommend Magone Italian Grill & Pizza. It’s a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family, offering delicious food and excellent service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
The service was a little lacking. Between sitting down and our pizza coming out was more than 45 minutes, on a middle of the week night.
The owner accommodated a special order and it was excellent. The service was great and I will definitely be back.
Thanks Michelle!
So, here is mine and it’s all about their delicious lasagna (was absolutely phenomenal) I had over the weekend. My girlfriend got the chicken parm and loved it. I also ordered a caesar salad which was top notch. Born and bred in NY, it’s almost impossible to find a good Italian restaurant in the south. These guys are a very close second, in my opinion. Definitely give them a shot and be objective when reading these negative reviews from the miserable souls out there with nothing better else to do but find company to join their misery.
Sal, Anna, and Ethel really make this place THE place to be. They are always smiling and laughing and ready to make your experience enjoyable. The service can’t be beat. Their salads are top notch and you can never go wrong with the alfredo. Be sure to ask for the house bread. Very very good!
It is one of the best options for pizza in the Durham/Chapel Hill.
You won’t find the influencer crowd, because the focus is good tasting food and not gimmicks. I have been going there for at least 5 or 6 years and the consistency is there.
It’s so much better than the pizza places that get hyped around here.
Also, when I picked up the order, I requested an extra piece of bread. It cost me fifty cents. I understand that the bread cost the restaurant. It just felt odd to have to pay for one extra piece of bread. I guess the restaurant needs every penny it can possibly get.
