I had Magone cater my dad’s 80th birthday. The eggplant and penne were outstanding. He is very picky, but he loved it and all the guests couldn’t stop talking about it. They were very kind and made sure all was ready on time and helped me out to the car with everything. Thank you to all at Magone for making my dad so happy!

I really had a fantastic dinner with my family on 01-28-2026. Anna was our server, and she took GREAT care of us — super attentive!!! Everyone’s food came out simultaneously and piping hot. I cannot tell you how unusual that seems nowadays. I ordered the fettuccine carbonara, and it was fantastic. I highly recommend it. My wife and one of my daughters enjoyed the farfalle pulcinella, while my other daughter had the spaghetti bolognese. Magone’s serves bread with dinner, which many restaurants no longer provide. Additionally, Magone’s had a 1/2-off special on bottles of wine. That’s cheaper by the bottle than two glasses, FWIW. Everyone in our party ate all of their food, and everyone was pleased and satisfied. The staff were really great. I cannot wait to try the fried zucchini.

Felt compelled to leave this review after reading through the reviews here earlier tonight. Maybe they are inconsistent but my meal tonight was quite excellent.

Salad and bread came out quickly and the salad bowl was ice cold. Bread was delicious.

Ordered pasta and meat sauce and it was piping hot and cooked perfectly.

I’m picky about pizza but was shocked at how big the personal size was (definitely didn’t need the pasta, too!) and it was absolutely solid.

Best part? My entire meal (salad, bread, pasta, pizza) was $28 and some change. Absurd value for what they gave me.

Give them a try, my sense is that the negative reviews are pretty extreme outliers.

Magone Italian Grill & Pizza was a delightful first-time experience! I recently visited with a few friends, and we were all impressed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a casual dinner.
I opted for the Philly steak and cheese, and it was fantastic. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the cheese was perfectly melted. It was a generous portion, and I left feeling very satisfied. My friends also enjoyed their meals, which ranged from pasta dishes to pizza, and everyone seemed pleased with their choices.

What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service. Our waitress was incredibly attentive, friendly, and efficient. She made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us regularly without being intrusive. Her positive attitude really enhanced our dining experience.

Overall, I highly recommend Magone Italian Grill & Pizza. It’s a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family, offering delicious food and excellent service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Really great neopolitan style pizza, surprisingly good. Crisp thin crust, good flavor.
The service was a little lacking. Between sitting down and our pizza coming out was more than 45 minutes, on a middle of the week night.

I had gone in at about 5pm and there was only one person there. It soon started getting more customers and pizzas start flying out the door. That was a good sign.

The owner accommodated a special order and it was excellent. The service was great and I will definitely be back.

Thanks Michelle!

I saw the other negative review on the 1 star lasagna situation and I’d like to chime in. First off, if you have ONE negative experience but MANY positive ones with a business, why slam them with such a negative review!? You know how bad that can hurt a business!?!! I had a construction business once and would get anxiety over dumb things like that. Wonder how many positive reviews “Mr Lasagna” wrote for Magones?

So, here is mine and it’s all about their delicious lasagna (was absolutely phenomenal) I had over the weekend. My girlfriend got the chicken parm and loved it. I also ordered a caesar salad which was top notch. Born and bred in NY, it’s almost impossible to find a good Italian restaurant in the south. These guys are a very close second, in my opinion. Definitely give them a shot and be objective when reading these negative reviews from the miserable souls out there with nothing better else to do but find company to join their misery.

They treat my 91 year old patient like a king. This is his favorite place to eat and while he loves the food he absolutely adores the staff. They are so kind to him, always making him feel like the only one here. We are so appreciative. They even chop his salads up so he can eat them easier! He is their number one fan!
Sal, Anna, and Ethel really make this place THE place to be. They are always smiling and laughing and ready to make your experience enjoyable. The service can’t be beat. Their salads are top notch and you can never go wrong with the alfredo. Be sure to ask for the house bread. Very very good!

Always good. Always fast. The people are friendly.

It is one of the best options for pizza in the Durham/Chapel Hill.

You won’t find the influencer crowd, because the focus is good tasting food and not gimmicks. I have been going there for at least 5 or 6 years and the consistency is there.

It’s so much better than the pizza places that get hyped around here.

Disappointed in the quality and taste of the lasagna.

Also, when I picked up the order, I requested an extra piece of bread. It cost me fifty cents. I understand that the bread cost the restaurant. It just felt odd to have to pay for one extra piece of bread. I guess the restaurant needs every penny it can possibly get.
