My girlfriend and I visited Mago Mexican Cantina yesterday (the Chicago location about 20–25 minutes from Schaumburg), and we were really impressed. The vibe was warm, colorful, and lively without being too loud perfect for a casual date night.
We ordered the quesadilla and fajitas, and both dishes were fantastic. The quesadilla was cheesy, well-seasoned, and perfectly crisp, while the fajitas came out sizzling with fresh veggies and tender meat. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the portions were generous.
The service was friendly and quick, and overall the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend if you’re in the area and craving great Mexican food.

Had a fun birthday dinner. I really enjoyed the mole sauce. The seafood pot pie was interesting. The flavors were there but I think I’ll rip the cover off to cool down faster. Some folks got the chicken burrito and a couple of the al pastor tacos and really enjoyed. The guac table side was a nice treat to go with the Awesome Warm Tortilla chips. The churros dessert cart was fun.

Mago is such a fantastic restaurant! The food, the service, and the atmosphere are all top notch! The carne chihuahua is one of my favorite dishes! The presentation is nice and the taste is even better! Mago is also a great place to celebrate a birthday! They give you a sombrero to take home! So fun! Definitely a great place!

This Mexican restaurant is an absolute standout. The food is incredibly fresh and authentic, with generous portions that leave you more than satisfied. If you’re a fan of mole, this is the place to go — I’ve never seen so many different mole sauces on one menu. Each one is unique, rich in flavor, and absolutely delicious. Be sure to ask for samples; it’s a great way to experience the variety.

The food was delicious. The tacos had great flavor and a very generous portion of protein. I especially recommend the shrimp taco, the al pastor taco, and the carne asada taco. The palomas were also outstanding.
The service was excellent, and the place is very pleasant and beautifully decorated. Miguel, who we noticed usually works as a busser, was our server this time and did an extraordinary job. He took great care of us, treated us very well, and even prepared the paloma, which turned out spectacular. They should definitely consider promoting him to server because he does an excellent job. Thank you!

Decor/ambiance was spot on. The staff was professional, courteous and attentive. We were friends catching up and our waiter was respectful of our timeline which I truly appreciated (and is not always the case everywhere). Then…OMG an amazing margarita flight! Top notch tequila was used… Table side guacamole (which you are offered mild or spicy) was absolutely delicious and then the main course… mouthwatering. I highly recommend…they have been in the same location for over a decade (yet look and feel fresh and new) for a reason! I highly recommend…you won’t be disappointed.

Me and my sister went over the weekend. We had the guacamole which was very good. My sister ordered the steak tacos but she didn’t like the avocado salsa and chipotle chimichurri that was on it, but said the steak was good. I ordered the mole xico enchiladas with the green rice and it was also good. Cecelia was our waitress and she was wonderful!!
