We were so excited to see Magnolias on the Bay reopen — and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. We’ve already been back twice since reopening — once for dinner and once for lunch — and both experiences were fantastic. The atmosphere is everything you want from a waterfront spot. Relaxed, beautiful, and welcoming, with that perfect true Southern vibe. Think Charleston, SC: vibrant colors, plush fabric inside, and comfortable seating.
As you travel through the restaurant into the covered patio, you discover a gorgeous seating area with plenty of outdoor space for large parties, tables with a fire pit to keep you warm, and an unobstructed view of the bay.
Realizing the need for an outdoor bar area, Sue and Rocket created an absolutely stunning covered bar that is also suitable for dining.
Dinner was exceptional — fresh seafood and a perfectly prepared filet, both beautifully presented. The flavors were vibrant and thoughtfully balanced. You can tell there’s intention behind the menu. Lunch was equally impressive — lighter fare done right, and just as flavorful as dinner. Service both times was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The staff seemed excited to be back, and it showed. There’s a renewed energy in the amazing venue, making it feel like a true local gem again. If you’ve been waiting for it to reopen, go. If you haven’t tried it yet, make a reservation. We’ll definitely be back (again).

Absolutely amazing across the board. We have already been twice since they reopened last week and can confidently say they are back and better than ever. Mike and Travis, the new managers, went out of their way to welcome us, chat with us, and make us feel like family. On Valentine’s Day, Sydney took such thoughtful care of us. Sharp, kind, and completely on point.
Both meals exceeded expectations. The sushi and the desserts amazing again! Our favorite is back Big Mike Roll, and now this new Milton roll And the filet? My husband is still talking about it. He swears it is the best he has ever had and he is a world traveler, so that says a lot.
So happy to have this gem back. We will be back to being regulars.

Thrilled that Magnolias is open again!! We had an outstanding dinner. The food and service was fantastic, not to mention the renovations that have been done. We enjoyed a beverage in the new outdoor bar before dinner, loved it and you cannot beat the view!!! It is a must- will not disappoint!!!

Love the new updated restaurant. Visited today and service was slow considering there were only 8 tables. We ordered salads with the add on of blackened chicken and grilled key west shrimp. I had the Roasted beet salad with the add on of grilled Key West shrimp, everything about the salad was excellent, apart from the shrimp, extremely basic and very small, definitely not Key West shrimp, which are usually sweet, tender with a slight nutty flavor, at best these were farm raised from somewhere in Asia, completely tasteless and disappointing. My friend ordered the Magnolias salad with blackened chicken. The salad was tasty, but the dressing definitely was a little too spicy for both of us. The blackened chicken was good but a little overcooked and crispy around the edges. Location is gorgeous and they have spent money in the new upgraded restaurant. Will be back but looking for my money’s worth for the add on’s.

What a great experience! I mentioned to Manager Mike that the Best steak I have ever had was some 30 years ago at Morton’s in Las Vegas! It was their $100 cut. I enjoyed Magnolias $56 cut more! Cooked and flavored to perfection!!! We have been long term customers of Magnolias and feel that our loyalty is very well served!

Eight of us dined. None of us described the food as anything more than mediocre. Several of us were very disappointed. The food was well plated and appealing. But the flavors weren’t very good. The methods of preparation were lazy as most every main dish we had was oven roasted. The different fish dishes were roasted as opposed to pan seared or grilled. The steak was sous vide then roasted, as opposed to pan seared following the sous vide, so there was no caramelization or crust, just a $60 grey brownish filet. The sea bass was served with a “winter spice” sauce…aka pumpkin pie spice. Fish and pumpkin pie is a bizarre flavor combination that I found off putting. If I were basing the review on my meal alone, it’d be 1 star. But 3 for the table is an average…a generous average. Service was friendly but very slow. We were seated for 2 hours 30 mins without ordering dessert. The atmosphere was very nice. The cooking…not so much.

Had an early Valentine’s Day dinner and it was so pleasant and relaxing. The atmosphere is beautiful looking at Lemon Bay! The decor is perfectly defined! And the menu is Amazing! I had Sushi ” cooked ” option, and my husband had the bone in Pork Chop. Ashlyn was our server and delivered the best! She’s professional, accommodating and efficient! Great experience overall. Management was very present and professional as well! We will be back!

My boyfriend and I dined at Magnolias on the Bay this past Fourth of July while on vacation, and it was an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed a beautiful dinner on the patio with fireworks lighting up the sky. From the food to the service and atmosphere, everything was perfect. The dishes were delicious, and the service was exceptional. A special thanks to our server, Brandon, who was attentive, kind, and offered great recommendations. After dinner, we watched more fireworks and had a lovely conversation with Sam, the manager, who gave us some great local tips. Huge thanks to the entire staff for making our evening so memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I went for the first time on Thursday. I was blown away at how beautiful the setting of the was. The view of the water was stunning. They were packed but we were able to get a small table outside, which was perfect. The lightning and the tables outside with the big beautiful fire pits created a very relaxing and romantic experience. We ordered the snapper for dinner with a bottle of the Malbec and the flourless chocolate cake. The food was delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly. This is my new favorite place. 10 out of 10.
