From the moment one steps through the door, you immediately sense a genuine attentiveness to you as a guest. The warm greeting, the subtle yet inviting aroma that permeates the dining room, and the beautifully restored historic setting all combine to create an atmosphere that welcomes both families and couples seeking an intimate, memorable meal.

Let’s begin with the food. We started with a simply exquisite appetizer: freshly baked bread served with quality olive oil. It set the tone: elegant, understated, and thoughtfully composed. The restaurant’s selection of teas and wines is equally commendable—well-curated, offering excellent pairing options for the courses ahead.

The main course truly surprised me: the steak — one of the finest I have ever encountered. It melted in the mouth, exquisitely prepared, accompanied by superb asparagus that complemented it perfectly. That combination alone makes it worthwhile to overlook all the usual steakhouse stops and drive those extra minutes to this historic gem.

Delving into the background: the building dates back to 1905 (after a rebuild following a 1904 fire) and was formerly a seed-processing facility, before being repurposed and opening as Magnolias in 2004. The current Executive Chef, Ian Dieter, has been leading the kitchen since 2017 and brings over 25 years of fine-dining and farm-to-table experience.
A very special thank you is due to our server, Bryan, whose knowledgeable, attentive and enthusiastic service elevated the entire experience. His timing, recommendations, and genuine engagement helped make the evening feel first-class.
In summary: if you are looking for a restaurant that combines historic ambience, warm hospitality, exceptional food and thoughtful beverage selections, Magnolias at the Mill delivers on all counts. Highly recommended for both special occasions and refined everyday dining.

Amazing decor, wonderful food. The butternut squash soup was fantastic, as was the blackened shrimp Cobb salad and special trout dish. They prepared a special personalized menu page for our anniversary. Absolutely special. Great and friendly service. Went back a week later with my father-in-law. I had the oyster pot boy special and their red pepper soup — both fantastic! Same great service from Sydney!

Been coming here over the years, always exceeds expectations!

Julian is awesome, got our drinks in a jiffy and recommended the Wagyu and Lamb Burgers. Fantastic with either truffle or sweet potato fries! Perfect with your favorite mixer or bourbon. I recommend Jeffersons Oceans.

For dessert, Mango Sorbet is delicious. Key Lime Tart was good a but a tad too sweet.

Always an excellent dining experience, highly recommend!!

We wanted that farm to table experience and this place fits that vibe. Food came out fresh and flavorful. Service was helpful and friendly too.

Deviled eggs- tasty
Ancient grains salad with steak- lean and filling. Would have been better if they let me add the dressing because it came out soggy
Cheese burger- was good but messy

The focaccia bread they serve is sooo good! So easy to fill up on it!

They had a nice menu. There are more things I would love to try on the menu.

We made a reservation for 11 people, and they accommodated our party with no issues. The restaurant offers both outdoor and plenty of indoor seating.

I ordered the Almond Crusted Trout — it was a great dish, though a bit heavy on the almonds. I was a little disappointed that the Beef Tenderloin Tip Pasta couldn’t be cooked medium rare. I also wish the menu had more healthy options, as most dishes come with creamy sauces or risotto. It would be nice to see some lighter sides, like potatoes or asparagus, instead of risotto with every entrée, especially for the price point.
On a positive note, the kids’ meal portions were generous and very tasty

Very nice atmosphere and has a nice history which is written on the last page of the menu. Food was ok but a little expensive but the service was ok. Staffs could be a little more friendly.

First time at this restaurant. Gave 4 star out of 5, because a Tea was served w/o a spoon, no honey or lemon even though I requested it. The empty Tea cup was not clean and the spoon when arrived was not clean either. Don’t go too hungry, because I waited more than one hour for the food and other customers that arrived after me, their food was served first. But I must say, my food was very delicious.

My wife and I popped in one afternoon for a quick little dinner. On a Friday night, we were seated quickly and our waiter was fantastic! She was super friendly and gave a quick overview of the daily items.

We had the burger on a previous visit and it was so juicy and delicious! This spot doesn’t disappoint with its delicious farm fresh offerings.
