Maginns has a lot going for it. First it’s on Main Street in Old Town Newhall. Won’t go deep but Newhall is a history rich part of SoCal and the L.A. area in what is now Santa Clarita. Of the four communities in the SC valley Newhall is the oldest with the most charm. Whether before or after visiting Maginns there are lots of sidewalk walkable spots to hit on Main Street. Once you get inside you’ll find a smallish and fairly traditional Irish/British pub. Guinness and Harp on tap and they make a decent Black and Tan. The atmosphere is a 4+. The food was outstanding. A legit 5. Wife had Bangers and Champ. Sausage and an onion sauce over mashed potatoes. She loved it. I had Fish and chips. The fish was huge. The batter, perfect. Fresh fish, tasted like cod, definitely a light white fish. Very good chips. Price was ok, not exceptionally high or low. The only negative was our server. He was nice, pleasant and informative but not particularly attentive. Service is very situational and I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on an off night. Overall a very strong and high 4 that I’m rounding up. We’ll be back.

Stopped by the other day to check it out as my daughter recommended me to go and found all the reviews I read prior to going to be very accurate. I was craving gourmet hamburger and received just that. Hearty and tasty to say the least. No complaints whatsoever and the service was excellent. Also tried a bit of the fish and chips from my wife’s plate which did not disappoint. Highly recommended!!

This is THE BEST fish and chips I’ve ever had hands down. It changed my life. Awesome atmosphere, liked the music, waitress was on point, fast, and friendly. Honestly I can’t wait to go back again for the fish and chips.

We love it here! Maginns Old Fashion is our go-to drink. Food wise, it’s the tried and true and our most favorite, fish and chips that we go there for. We also love their cottage pie and the beef and guinness stew. We’ve been there a lot but haven’t tried everything yet. One more reason to go there is it’s true to form, Irish Pub atmosphere. Decor, furniture, and materials used are very authentic. Lastly, the people…..They’re friendly and so genuine.

I loved just about everything about my experience at Maginn’s…The food, the atmosphere, the entrance even! It brought me back to the fantastic experience my wife and I had on a trip to Ireland a few years ago…one of the greenest places you’ll see (I mean seriously, I think they invented the color green there and what we have here that we call “green” is sort of a cheap knock-off.)

This establishment was highly recommended by a friend, we stopped by on the way home for Long Beach. And we are so glad we did! The atmosphere was welcoming and amazing! Felt like we stepped into Ireland. The staff was friendly and warm. The food… I’m not sure we could do it justice. We had fish & chips, cottage pie, crispy Brussels sprouts, and Buffalo wings. All highly recommended! We will definitely be returning.

Found this pub by accident, however it was a pleasant surprise. I ordered fish and chips. Which was cooked to perfection. Crispy outer yet the fish was flavorful. The portion was substantial and the bartender recommended a whiskey concoction that tasted phenomenal. I will definitely be back and if you are look for a friendly, good food and drinks. Do Not Look Any Further.

The Fish & Chips was amazing!! Best I’ve had in a very long time. The bartenders were freaking. Met the owner & she was super friendly. I rate this place very Hugh. There has not been many new places I’ve liked lately on Main Street but this place for sure was amazing & fun!
