Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge is an absolute vibe. The atmosphere is next level—fun, stylish, and perfectly over-the-top in the best way. Incredible views, great music, and an energy that makes it feel like more than just a rooftop bar.

The staff were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. Drinks were on point, the space is super Instagram-worthy without feeling cheesy, and the overall setup is just plain fun.

If you’re looking for a rooftop spot in NYC that actually lives up to the hype, Magic Hour delivers. Would definitely come back.

If you want it shorter, more hype-y, or more laid-back, say the word.

Rooftop is connected to the Moxy Hotel and has a very distinctive vibe.
The rooftop features a cowboy-themed restaurant with rotating chairs, a dedicated photo booth area, and even cowboy boots and hats you can try on, which makes it fun for photos. It looks a bit quiet at first, but people do come specifically to eat and hang out.

It’s actually a nice spot to visit during a cold winter day for the atmosphere, but to be honest, the food itself is pretty average—nothing particularly memorable.
The bar next door is a completely different story. Sundays are extremely loud, with a DJ and live drums, and it gets so crowded that it’s hard to even get inside.

Overall, it’s more of a place for vibes, photos, and social energy rather than great food.

Delicious drinks, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Pamela was our waitress. She was great! Loved the way they decorated the bar and lounge. Will def come back on our next visit to the city.

Our expectation was less looking at the other reviews but to our surprise this spot was cool and had the vibe. Brunch is kids friendly which was great. During our last trip we booked another roof top & came to know not all places are allowed for kids. Staffs were nice inspite of their busyness. Heard this Magic Hour rooftop is part of Moxy hotel. Hence to skip the driving booked a room there for 2 days but didn’t realise there were different Moxy hotels in NYC. Had to drive and pay for parking separately.

Wasn’t over crowded since it was afternoon hour. My kid enjoyed & so did we!

I came to a birthday brunch and the drinks were so good, the food was delicious. Great place for a photo op. The place was huge, some sections were blocked off I’m guessing they open it up for evening hours. Will definitely come back during summer night.

Booked a 1030pm reservation on opentable. Rushed out Knicks game to make it. Got there. Walked thru multiple rooms with no one in them. No workers. No guests. Finally got to one room that had less than 10 people in it. Tried to find an employee to get a table was told kitchen was closed. Why take reservations after kitchen is closed ?

We only did apps (hummus, guacamole, wings, dries) and drinks. The wings were a little salty and not spicy enough but everything else was really good. The boozy hot chocolate and the sweet treat were the best drinks to us. The staff was nice and attentive. The vibes were great and there are alot of places for cute photos. The dj was also amazing.

I had the opportunity to visit the rooftop and I thought it was too beautiful and pleasant a place, beautiful to take pictures and spend a pleasant time with friends or as a couple, I was attended by the waitress Mariana, she was very nice, friendly and charismatic, her attention made the experience too pleasant, she explained the whole menu to me and made me several recommendations, thanks to her recommendation I tried the martini espresso and the Moira rose, thank you Mariana your attention was incredible, I loved the Moira rose! I loved the place and the attention. I want to come back for the summer!

I understand why this place is one of the best rooftops in NYC. I was so impressed with the decor & the atmosphere the vibes were definitely it. Loved how they had places where you could take photos. Could see this being a spot that you definitely go to for brunch with the girls to take them pics. The service was a little off, there was a period of time where our waitress had disappeared and we couldn’t get a few things that we needed. When we had booked this reservation we were excited to get a full experience cause we have stayed at the Moxy for a decade but never have been up to the rooftop for brunch . So once we sat down I knew I wanted to get the pancakes for sure . We were torn between the Crème brûlée french toast or the cotton candy pancakes. I am more of a pancake person than French toast. Once we got the pancakes , I realized that with the cotton candy alone was very very sweet. But on top of that the pancakes themselves were super dry, so I wasn’t impressed. Even after I had tried them several ways to see if one was better than the other, with just the cotton candy alone & syrup. One with the apples & syrup & one with the blueberries with syrup. No matter what I got super dry. My husband had with the the banana foster & enjoyed it. The eggs, bacon, home fries and salad was the plate I enjoyed the most! I will give that you definitely are paying for just the atmosphere. I would definitely go again and try a few other things before completely saying if I’d go back again or not. The music also was definitely created by millennials! All the songs were hitting.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday and not too busy. The vibes are on point, beautiful atmosphere. Great for photo ops so make sure to dress cute. Floral scenery, mini moving carousel for siting and taking pictures. The chicken parm sliders were good but extremely small. The egg sandwich is good, did think it has a little too much small but still good and hash browns are extremely crispy. Waiter did forget my water after telling her 4 times but that’s ok. The pina colada drink was good but tasted more on the lemon side. Did sit on a high seat which was kinda uncomfortable. If I had a normal sitting table maybe my experience would be much better. Made a reservation on open table. Cool open rooftop area. Overall was a good brunch day for pictures. This is somewhere I came once and I’m good so won’t be coming back. Go for the vibes and the atmosphere. One and done experience.
