This is a neighborhood Gem with an awesome staff. My daughter and I have been going here for over a decade. We typically order hotdogs and polishes. Great place to go with the family but be advised they close early.

This place is clean the food is made fresh that’s no dirt in this place at all the prices are reasonable the people are friendly and Ambiences perfect the food taste great the waitress asked me how I wanted my policy messages I told her exactly what I didn’t want wanted on it she listen to me there was no mistake so many restaurants don’t listen to you know I’m so I will remake it she got it right did it right perfect it’s like a family restaurant but it’s great the only thing is if you want to cheeseburger they have loose meat cheeseburgers like Detroit so it’s loose mean like hamburger meat instead of a cheeseburger set a patty but really good

We ended up stopping here coming back from the beach. The food was good but that’s about it. While ordering I was asked if I wanted just chili and cheese I said “just chili cheese and onion” the man taking my order proceed with you said jsut chili and cheese now onions?” Confused I said yes all three. Because that is what I had stated I wanted chili cheese and onions. We finished our order and was waiting for our food. The man who took our order ended up dropping one of our drinks and when our drinks came out he said next one that falls is on you. Weird joke for a first time customer but ok. We finally see our order ready and was asked if we wanted ketchup or salt. I said both please. The man said I said or not and. I said I’d like both please. He then started to yell at us about how he said or and not and. My boyfriend was visibly mad at this point for how he was treating us being that we do not know this man and have never been here. My boyfriend then said he wanted both ketchup and salt. The man then stopped and said oh it was a line from a movie. Not everyone knows references so I’d suggest not yelling at a customer as a joke. I just wanted my food and to leave. Never will return.

I hadn’t been to Madveks for several years. They were always so good, but things have really changed. The meat didn’t taste anything like it use to. Very plain, but also had an odd taste. I ordered a cup of cheese for the fries, it was ice cold. They must keep those in the refrigerator and didn’t bother to warm it. We all took a couple bites and threw the rest away. Sad to see a neighborhood staple decline so much. On the bright side. The place is still extra clean.

Only place in NW Indiana (that I know of) who serves the legendary loose meat or “Maid Rite” sandwiches! Ketchup, mustard and onion is all it needs. Absolutely tasty! Sticks together so perfectly!
