We requested Pedro after reading reviews, and we’re happy to say that he was not only delightful, but very good at his job!
We ordered cocktails, wine and beer. The olives and the burrata to start, both were delicious, the olives were huge and perfectly ripe. For our mains we had the Linguine ragu della Nonna and the beef carpaccio. Unfortunately, the carpaccio had so much cheese (both shaved and grated Parmesan and Pecorino) and dollops of different sauces everywhere, that you couldn’t really taste the beef. It was extremely salty. Pedro handled it with grace. The atmosphere was amazing, we sat in a room curtained off far from the main entrance. Bathroom was spotless. All in all, we enjoyed the experience and will be going back to try the wood fired pizza and look forward to seeing Pedro again!

The grilled octopus was the highlight of the evening—perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and bursting with flavor, it practically melted in my mouth. The pizza was also impressive, earning a solid 8/10 with a well-balanced crust and topping combination. The cocktails complemented the meal nicely—refreshing, well-mixed, and enjoyable. Overall, a great dining experience.

Okay…. The fact that I have to leave L.A and go to Panama on vacation to get the BEST Italian food I’ve ever had is a mind blowing salute to the chef! The only issue was the staff not attending to the customers in a timely manner. Which was a little annoying. But the FOOD and atmosphere saved the night. I still recommend this restaurant. I will try them again when we are back in Panama

Anel was our waiter and he was sooo helpful!
My sister and I don’t speak Spanish but he spoke some English and helped out with what to get and even helped us find the club area and some other rooftop bar suggestions.
That mushroom ravioli was immaculate. I can’t wait to visit Panama again to try more on the menu.

Phenomenal Italian restaurant in the heart of Casco Viejo. We had the ensalata caprese which was one of best I had. The ravioli de Gamberonni was spectacular. After this dish we knew we were in for a treat. We followed that with the tagliata di manzo and the pesce del giorno which was a perfect combination of surf and turf on a bed of pasta. We complemented our dinner with a margarita pizza because how can you not have pizza at an Italian restaurant. To cap it off we had the fogottino madre as our dessert. This was truly a culinary Italian masterpiece in Panama of all places. A shout out to Raul, our waiter as well. He was spot on. His recommendations were exactly what we needed. I would consider this place a must for anyone wanting to have Italian in Panama City. Enjoyed it immensely.

Amazing place for some drinks and a quick bite of pizza. It was surprisingly very, very good, especially Prosciutto Arugula & Burrata. Hailing from New York City and accustomed to very good pizza, I usually do not expect much from other places (naturally, except for authentic pizza in Italy), so I was pleasantly surprised.
We stopped by for dinner in May 2023, and there were live music performers there, which only added to the great ambiance of the place.
Highly recommend you to visit this place if you’re in the mood for some good pizza.

The pizza is AMAZING! I was blown away by the pizza. The flavors of the dough and the many combinations that are unique but so good. Service is outstanding. Try the pulpo ceviche dish!
We went back the next evening for take out and tried the Insalata Caprese which was also really good. The salads are made to be shared which is why the price is a bit higher but the portions are generous for a table of 5-6 to share. Highly recommend enjoying an evening dining at Madre!

I was the only person in the restaurant at 6:30pm which initially I thought was a bad sign. I had a quattro formaggi pizza, and it was good, but part of the crust was burnt. The service was adequate and I would return in the future.
