We dined in at Madras Bakery Cafe and had a great experience overall. We ordered kothu parotta, poori masala, chicken dum biryani, and a thali. The poori masala and kothu parotta were made mildly spicy exactly as we requested, which we really appreciated.

The food portions were just right, filling without being excessive, and the prices were reasonable. The chicken dum biryani was flavorful, and the thali gave a good variety.

We also tried their cakes, and they were very good — especially the mango cake, which was delicious and stood out for its taste and freshness.

Overall, good quality food, accommodating staff, and a pleasant dine-in experience. Would definitely visit again.

Madras Bakery, which opened nine months ago, is a convenient and welcoming restaurant owned by Raja Nadesan, who is known for treating every customer with genuine warmth.

We tried several dishes, including Thalapakatti Chicken Biryani served with onion pachadi (raita) and dalcha, Pondicherry Fish Fry, Parotta with Chicken Salna, and a Mini Tiffin featuring idli, bonda, dosai, ven pongal, poori with potato masala, sakkarai pongal, sambar, chutneys, and filter coffee. Every item was flavorful, and the base spice level was perfectly balanced. Their bakery section offers a wide range of fresh items, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian puffs available daily after 4:00 p.m. Madras Bakery also provides catering services for special occasions, serving groups from a minimum of 20 to a maximum of 200 guests.

I ordered a cut mirchi, breakfast thali and ghee roast masala dosa. The appetizer arrived last. The food was ok. The coconut chutney had garlic in it, which was unexpected and didn’t taste great. The sambar was ok, but didn’t stand out. The puri, masala, dosa, ven pongal and sweet pongal were good. Medu vada was not very crispy. The tiffin was missing sambar and had to be requested. The madras coffee was fine.
I think this is a bakery first, and then a restaurant. Or maybe the non vegetarian dishes are what they specialize in. Either way, I was excited to find this new south Indian restaurant, but I’m disappointed.

I recently ordered food for my son’s 1st birthday, and I was truly impressed with the experience. Being from Sri Lanka, I requested the dishes to be customized to suit our taste preferences, and the chef was very accommodating. I ordered vegetable fried rice, chili chicken, gobi Manchurian, and a vegetable stir-fry, each dish was flavorful and absolutely delicious. I’ve also dined in and placed takeout orders on a few occasions, and the food has been consistently excellent. Highly recommend, and I look forward to ordering again.

Apollo Fish by chef Raja Natesan is a must try here. Chennai chicken 65 Biriyani is definitely a good option for main course. Will visit this place more often. Rich Chocolate cake is an another banger.

Thalapakati biryani was so good and mild. Spices were rightly used for it to taste and smell authentic. Egg curry and chicken 65 – just like how moms make. Highly recommend the food.

Had such a wonderful meal at Madras Bakery Cafe! The TALAPAKATTU BIRYANI was fragrant and authentic, and both the goat curry and chicken fry were tender and well-spiced. The paneer dish was equally delicious. The tiffin items — dosa, vada, and IDLI were fresh and comforting, and the coconut chutney truly stood out. The Malabar parotta was flaky and soft, just perfect. We ended with filter COFFEE ☕️ , and it was strong, smooth, and authentic. Highly recommend for anyone craving real South Indian flavors in Columbus! ✨

Tasty bites and great Wednesday deals

Madras Bakery is a pretty good place for a casual meal or to grab some bakery items. Their veg and non-veg puffs are flavorful, and the pastries and cake slices are fresh and satisfying.

We stopped by on a Wednesday, which turned out to be the best day to visit! They offer all types of Dosa for $6.99, and it even comes with a free pastry. Plus, Tea with biscuits for just $1 is a nice touch.

The food quality is solid, and the prices are very reasonable. I’d definitely recommend visiting at least once on a Wednesday to enjoy their specials.

Today was my first day at the Madras Bakery. I am very familiar with Indian sweets, but I have never had them in cake form. I purchased a slice each of the pineapple cake and the gulab jamun cake. They were both absolutely delicious. The frosting was not that sweet and tasted like whipped cream, which I loved. I will definitely be returning to try their savory items.

We absolutely destroyed our food. Our third time coming here (our friend’s first) and the quality is top notch every time.

Madras Bakery has something for everybody. Whether you’re vegetarian, religious, or otherwise, they have it. And it’s good.

Also try the garlic naan.
