I had a really long day after work. I genuinely just wanted to find a place to relax and enjoy my own mental collective time. Torri greeted me with a big smile and she served and was always there to make sure I was taken care of. There’s a lot of great people that work at Mara, but she is probably one of the best ones that I know that worked there. She is always doing her best and exerting over the amount. I love this place! I will continue to come here, especially as long as she is here and other awesome employees!

From the moment you walk up, you know this is an Irish Pub! The inside is nice and cozy… feels like home. The drinks are wonderful! The staff were kind and helpful. The food was next level! Everything had great flavor! Nothing was too salty. The chef here knows their stuff!!! Best Irish food we have had!

This restaurant has gone downhill and you can tell it is failing. I took 6 people who had eaten here before to dinner. We all loved it before but this time was very different. It reeks of a failing business . The fishermans pie was a bowl of mashed potatoes and if you dug long and hard you found 6 shrimp. I had it there before and it had a nice white sauce and vegetables with chunks of white fish ,shrimp. A light layer of potato toppings . So cutting costs gets you a bowl of mashed potatoes. Everyone asked what happened to this place? Exactly! What did happen? Dumpster food ,skip this establishment there are so many better places to eat. No wonder the only patrons were at the bar. They all know not to eat the food. Never again!

It was our first time coming to this location, and we were so happy we did! It has a real Irish feel, and we had our own enclosed booth that was comfortable and cozy. Our server was a sweetheart and checked in with us often. The food. The food was incredible and made me want to bring my Irish, Guiness loving dad here when he visits. We had the prime rib sandwich with au jus and fries, which was more than what we had expected with large slices of prime rib, not the sliced thin cheesesteak like slices, and it was tender and delicious, and perfect with the au jus. We also shared the homemade spinach and artichoke dip with chips, and it was creamy and savory. The best we’ve ever had! We split the cup of Shepard pie that came with a slice of soda bread, and to say I was doing the happy dance was an understatement. The pretzel and jalapeño cheese dip was devoured, and we have no shame about how quickly. I think we found our new favorite comfort food location. We will be back a million times!

I’m always on the hunt for some good pubs wherever I end up in the world, and I gotta say that this place is a great one. If you’re looking for a really chill and upstanding pub, this is where to go. The place is clean, and the bar is pretty extensive. The drinks here are great, and they do not skimp on the alcohol. The food here is also pretty good and reasonably priced for the area. A great place to go with a bunch of friends.

Madra Rua has been going downhill for a long time – its just worse and worse every time I come here. I’ve given it years and keep going back, hoping… but the management continue to make me more sorry every time I came through the door. I’ve put off pulling the plug, writing the review and calling it quits…its too bad – Madra Rua used to be great and I loved coming here. It still looks like the old amazing spot, every time I’m excited that maybe my last 20 trips were flukes! But no. The customer service is abhorrent these days, if it even exists; plastic service during a weekday; a bar that is stocked worse than the last hop to Myrtle Beach airport; and now nearly all of the stools at the bar have been removed (??) – just a few things at the tip of the iceberg of disappointment. The only thing even close to Irish is the name and the Foxes would be embarrased they share it. There are other establishments nearby, and I’ll be choosing one of those from now on.
There is no longer an Irish bar in Park Circle.
Hopefully Madra Rua closes soon and something else, anything else, can take its place.
*You can still get a great pint of Guinness. It just has to be in plastic.

I visited Madra Rua in Park Circle tonight, 11/14/24 and I had the States best service from a young woman who waited on our party of four. We just stopped in for a few beers, no food, as we had our dinner waiting for us in the crockpot at home. I only left @ a 27% tip and kinda feel bad about it. She was Fantastic, Friendly, Funny and continually checking in to make sure we all had what we wanted. This Young Lady must certainly love her job which says a lot about the business. Thank you @madrarua for a wonderful evening

The food and the atmosphere are great. The service is atrocious. We waited for a waiter for 20 minutes and the bar tender never acknowledged us or let any waiters know we would like to eat here. When we went inside to seek staff, there was none. So we sat and waited some more.. eventually left after nobody appeared to be working. This is not the first time I’ve had to leave due to poor service. Y’all need to kick it into gear. Do better.
