Rob and Chelsea are awesome! The food is the best in Big Bear hands down. My son loves the 8 oz filet with the Burgundy wine sauce and mushrooms. We love the seafood, especially the scallops as we don’t eat meat. The Jalepeno soup is to die for and always leave room for Rob’s incredible bread pudding at the end. A five star experience all the way around.

Absolutely the most horrible dining experience I have ever had. The service was below substandard. I had to request water 4 or five times and it took twenty minutes. They didn’t clear the table between courses. It took forever to get our food and when I asked for an additional loaf of bread which is tiny about two dinner rolls and not that good I was told it would be an additional charge of $2 because we had two small baskets. They were out of cabarnet because they hadn’t had a wine delivery for two weeks and finally 20 minutes later found some cabarnet and took another twenty minutes to get a glass. The escargot were horrible. The rack of lamb was drenched in their stupid pesto or basil sauce and the mashed potatoes were soupy. When I complained to the chef about the charge for bread and told him normally the customer is right his response was that isn’t true. Supposedly cordon bleu chef maybe off the back of some matchbook. Truly appalling dinner and service for two for $170. There were only four occupied tables in the restaurant and the 4 top next to us were complaining that they were there before us and still hadn’t been served their dinners when we already finished our meal not even fit for a dog..

From the first time we went to Madlon’s to each and every time we have been, it has BEEN AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. The food tastes AMAZING. The waitresses are pleasant. The cook is heavenly talented. The sign on the door says, “this is not fast food”.
For anyone who posts a bad review about waiting for their food does not realize the experience about eating at Madlon’s. These people do it right. They do NOT put your food in a microwave. They do not serve you FROZEN crap. Everything you eat is FRESH and DELICIOUS.
