We are in town for the weekend and wanted to stay away from hotel food so we found this cute cafe. The atmosphere is so charming and the staff were great! My only complaints were we ordered the beignets and they are mini (cute in theory) but they were all burned and just crunchy and covered in powdered sugar instead of fluffy little pillows. They are $9 so it was a complete waste of money for that item. We ordered the French toast and our order was to go. It was three half slices with a cranberry compote. We did not get the orange whipped cream noted on the menu. I felt that $14 for three had slices of bread and a small cup of cranberry and small cup of syrup was very expensive. Our 16 oz chai and hot chocolate had great flavor but the chai cup was just over half full. We poured it into an 12oz cup and it didn’t even fill it. Their house made granola is really yummy! Overall, I would return and eat in house but take away is lacking severely.

We were at a conference at the Davenport Grand Hotel and decided to get lunch there. It is a beautiful bakery with good options for lunch. I wished we could have enjoyed more of their pastries. The place offers plenty of tables and it is very spacious. Everything looked very fresh. Great option if you are in the area!

Absolutely love this place! If you’re looking for a breakfast spot that goes beyond the usual eggs and pancakes, this is it. The brisket hash is incredible—perfectly crispy potatoes topped with tender, flavorful brisket that’s clearly been cooked with care. The brisket itself is the star: smoky, juicy, and melts in your mouth.
I also tried the French dip, which was just as impressive. The meat was packed with flavor, and the au jus was rich and savory—perfect for dipping. And the horseradish cream is phenomenal!
You can really tell they focus on quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Between the cozy French café vibe and the standout dishes, this place is easily one of the best breakfast/brunch spots around. I’ll definitely be coming back for that brisket!

Pretty good service and also quick. We got a coffee and a hibiscus tea with elderberry. It was a little bitter and it needed some more honey or sugar, but it was pretty refreshing.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Madeleine’s today.
We ordered a brisket French dip, but what we were served was clearly corned beef, not brisket. Those are not interchangeable meats. Corned beef is heavily cured and can contain up to 1.8g of sodium in just a 3 oz portion, while brisket typically contains around 0.87g. This difference matters — especially for someone like my father-in-law who has high blood pressure, where excessive sodium intake can lead to serious health complications.
If the menu had stated that the sandwich used corned beef, we would have simply ordered something else and there would have been no issue. Instead, when we politely questioned it, the staff handled the situation extremely poorly.
The first employee tried to insist that brisket and corned beef are the same thing, which they absolutely are not. When we attempted to explain the concern, another employee responded with sarcasm instead of professionalism and asked, “Oh, well what restaurant do you guys own?” — as if customers need to own a restaurant in order to point out a menu inaccuracy.
For context, while I don’t own a restaurant, I am a sous chef at the Italian Kitchen. I attended culinary school for three years, have catered countless weddings at Black Rock Golf Course, and helped build the menu for my school’s Epicurean Delight course for 2022, 2023, and 2024. I am more than qualified to recognize the difference between brisket and corned beef, and they are drastically different products.
The sandwich itself wasn’t even the worst part. The service and the dismissive attitude toward a legitimate concern were.
If a restaurant is going to substitute ingredients, it needs to accurately describe what is being served and treat customers respectfully when they ask about it.
Unfortunately, this experience showed neither.

Very busy place. If you’re in a hurry this may not be the place for you. We were in downtown Spokane for a show and by the time we got our food we had to scarf it down very quickly. You stand in line to order and the line was out the door – of course this means it’s good. Lots of yummy baked goods, great coffee options, and lots of other choices. We had the reuben which comes with some fried potatoes. They were very tasty. Would go here again when not in a time crunch. I highly recommend trying it! Folks working were all very friendly and helpful.

Madeleine’s is my favorite morning treat! The pastries are consistently on point. Fresh, beautiful, and just really well done every single time. I always enjoy the chefs specials and the espresso is the best around.
Heidi makes the experience even better. She’s always such a bright, friendly, familiar face and gives genuinely great service. It feels warm and welcoming the moment you walk into this beautiful place!

Really a cool spot, I’ve waited to put in a review until I had some food and coffee a couple times. The food is genuinely really excellent, I’m usually not a sweets person but I’ve had 2 different biscotti here a cranberry orange and a gingerbread, bothe were absolutely phenomenal. I’ve also enjoyed the breakfast sandwich with the hot honey on it, all of those are great, the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 on food is the arugala greens mix in the sandwich getting steamed is not something I’m a fan of. That said I do like greens and I see how it totally works with the sandwich but it’s a little jarring in that breakfast sandwich to my taste.

Their pea and pesto salad is delicious. I also had a sandwich which was ok. Service was not the best. Whomever was working the cash register was probably having a bad day, or was tired – not sure, but she was short with the people ahead of us and with us. Our drinks were delivered to the wrong table even though we had a number placard visible. We saw her walk by, asked if those were chai lattes and she said no. Then she brought them back to us because they were our drinks. It’s worth a try – it may have been an off day for some of the staff. I’d give it a second opportunity. Parking is easy, across from a local bookstore and down from a large shopping mall. Walking distance to the park and other restaurants.

We arrived at 11:30 a.m. on a weekday. It was a warm sunny day, so we sat outside. I ordered the Fresh Apricot Crepes, a special offerred that day. They were delicious! I also ordered a latte and a Madeline cookie. Yum! Everything was good and I do recommend this place for a delicious lunch.

The outdoor seating is cheery and quaint. It really is the perfect place for a long conversation with a good friend. Restrooms were easily accessible and clean.
