Some items were yummy and we enjoyed the sushi. We enjoyed the Bonzai Garden cocktail too! The wagyu dumplings ($47!!) were awful. It was a tough piece of overcooked steak wrapped in dumpling. Then we ordered scallop maki, and recieved tuna maki. I informed a staff member and he insisted it was scallop. Then, he called over our server who also doubled down that it was scallop. It was red, obviously tuna, and I showed them with my flash light. Then they took it to the kitchen and corrected the roll. When they doubled down on the wrong fish it was telling. Either they are new to sushi or were reacting to this being our second issue after the dumplings were sent back. We are typically easy customers and have never sent a dish back before but the dumplings were unnacceptable. The staff did correct the errors and removed the dumplings from our tab. We were expecting great food but it was dissapointing. Either way, it was a mediocre experience at best.

I would have given this establishment one star, but the chefs actually cooked everything very deliciously, even though many things went wrong.
We were served fried rice with salmon twice, although we ordered it only once. We had to order drinks three times from different waiters and waited a long time. The rolls were brought out when not even half of the appetizers had been served yet. We ordered edamame with chili, but received the regular one.
Then our dishes were mixed up, or so we thought. We ate what was brought, and later they still brought the dish we originally ordered, plus an extra sake that we did not order at all. The confusion lasted throughout the entire dinner.
The waiters made mistakes with everything, and at the end one of them hit my husband with the chair and did not even apologize.
The sushi looked as if someone had already chewed it, but despite that, it was tasty. Overall, the food was truly delicious.

Madame Ushi is an experience. Highly recommend for a fun night out. Feels like the it place in Aspen right now. Unique mix of Michelin star level food, cool restaurant/club nightlife vibe, and upscale younger Aspen crowd. The decor and vibe are perfect – artsy but cozy, with music spot on for the nightlife vibe. The food was spectacular – way above our expectations. Best food we had on this trip to Aspen and some of best sushi we’ve had. Highly recommend the tuna sashimi, surf and turf roll, cabbage Caesar, and baked scallop. Service was exceptional to match. The atmosphere leans towards club, especially as the night goes on and the music lounge opens in the adjacent space. They hit it out of the park – best experience we had the entire week in Aspen. Amazing.

I would say the best Japanese restaurant in Aspen these days (and there are a few). The food was excellent – we were 3 and sampled numerous dishes. The vibe is lively and music and sound system is great. (This can surely be attributed to the owner being in the music industry). I am a foodie, travel the world to eat, and actually have a very popular restaurant myself in Aspen. Madame Ushi I can highly recommend!

The best meal we had in Aspen! We went twice during our trip. Everything we ordered was delicious and really well executed. The cocktails were amazing, and the staff was so kind and welcoming. The club side was also great. The DJ sets were fun and the place had such good energy. Easily one of the better places to go out in Aspen.

This was my favorite meal in Aspen. Our family of 4 was warmly welcomed, and Sonni was our favorite server on our trip. Very attentive and friendly staff with food that was perfectly prepared, presented, and served. From the A5 Wagyu to the Ramen, to the grilled cabbage Caesar salad, which Sonni recommended, everything excellent! Nice ambience, too!

Regrettably, my recent visit to Madame Ushi left me with a sense of unease, despite their evident efforts. While the staff tried hard to make us feel welcome, there was an underlying feeling of discomfort throughout our meal.

The astronomical prices on the menu left us scratching our heads, as there seemed to be no logical explanation for such exorbitant pricing. Unfortunately, the food failed to justify these sky-high costs.

Expecting culinary excellence to match the price tag, we were sorely disappointed by the subpar quality of the dishes. Each bite left much to be desired, further adding to our disappointment.

In the end, while the restaurant’s efforts were commendable, the overall experience fell short of expectations. For those seeking a satisfying dining experience in Aspen, I would recommend exploring other options that offer better value for money.

P. S.:
Nevertheless, for those seeking a visually stunning dining setting that transports them to the streets of Japan, Madame Ushi may still hold appeal.

Best Dining Experience in Aspen-was there for 4 days and ate there twice because we couldn’t get enough!!! The food is so good here you briefly consider proposing to the chef. I don’t know what’s the most impressive the food the vibe or the service but if you want an Aspen chic meal to be the highlight of your trip this is the place!!!!

Since the arrival of the new chef Jake (previously from Nobu in Miami) the food has blown me away. Everything on the menu is incredible. I could eat there every night. The ambience is sexy, unique and vibrant. The food is flavorful and beautifully plated. The hostesses, waiters and waitresses are kind, caring and attentive. 10/10

Would only come here for drinks. Atmosphere is cool but the food quality is extremely poor. Had wagyu crispy rice and skewers – was some of the worst food I’ve had. The chicken skewers were completely raw in the inside and the restaurant provided a 10% discount and took off a dessert… was really disappointed. Very overpriced and poor food quality overall
