Bro I still can’t believe Hamilton has a spot like this lol. Walked in and it’s giving treat yourself vibes straight away, lowkey feels a bit fancy but not in a scary way. The steak was actually legit. Cocktails were the real danger tho one turns into two real quick
Only thing is you gotta be ready to wait a bit if it’s busy feels like the kitchen takes its time which I’d rather than rushed but still I was sitting there thinking about my whole life Also it can be a bit hit-or-miss if you’re super picky about exact doneness so if you’re that guy just tell them clearly what you want.
But yeah it’s one of those places where you leave like ok Hamilton might be doing something and then you remember you’re still in NZ so you’re paying NZ prices and you just accept it in silence

The food here is excellent, entrees beautifully presented and delicious. The beef was so tender, one of the best I’ve ever had. The accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked. The chocolate brownies were light and not too sweet. A perfect finish to a fabulous meal. The only negative was that the service could be a bit more attentive as we had to ask for more drinks and it was quite cold. They were very happy accommodating dietary requirements. Really recommend you try it and can’t wait to return.

We had the signature eye fillet and signature ribeye, both were cooked exactly how we asked, and their respective sides were so different and matched the steak really well. Also the godfather cocktail is my new favorite whisky drink.

This is by far the best steakhouse in Hamilton. Service was friendly and very efficient. We thought we’d be waiting for a while because there were quite a few diners but we were impressed with the timing between all the dishes from entree to main to dessert, as well as the drinks. We asked for medium to well done steaks and they were perfect. Entree was generous and we loved the seafood chowder. Only recommedation would be to provide a butter spreading knife with the bread platter. Dishes were so filling, we had to ask for a doggy bag. Our mocktails were very tasty and dessert was spot on.

Had a fantastic dinner with friends at Mac Steakhouse last night, and while I regret not capturing any photos of the main course, the food looked and tasted amazing! A special highlight of the evening was when Chef personally came out to check if our dinner was just what we asked for—such a nice touch that made the experience even more memorable. The star of the night, though, was definitely the desserts. Each one was beautifully presented and tasted divine. From rich chocolate indulgences to lighter, fruitier options, every bite was a treat for the senses. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the textures were spot on. The dessert pictures I managed to take speak for themselves—just as stunning as they were delicious! Highly recommend wrapping up your meal with their decadent sweet selections.

Hands down, the best steak I’ve had ever. paired the beef sirloin with the herb garlic butter, with scallops on the side. I ate every single thing on my plate.
