Been in the area almost 6 years and I finally made it to Mack’s! It’s a small, old school diner but very popular. We walked in to a pretty decent line and customers came in consistently while we ate. I can say that we did not wait long at all. We ordered the cheeseburger and bacon cheeseburger and the both were really good! I’ll have to go back to try the chili dogs next. No complaints on service either.

Mack’s Cash Grocery serves excellent burgers, hot dogs and breakfast items. We visited on 5/10/23 and my cheeseburger and fries were excellent. This restaurant, also known as Mack’s on Laurel, has been located in downtown Columbia for decades. Tips: 1) They do accept credit cards and, 2) at busy times, be sure to enter at the back door as that is where the line forms.

Mack’s is an awesome little diner in Columbia, that I feel like doesn’t get talked about enough. Their hot dogs are second to none and their burgers and giant and filling. The diner itself has a cute aesthetic in it and invokes a feeling of a family establishment where everybody knows your name. The staff is nice, the food amazing, and all for a great price!

Nice little place across from fire station. Service is quick and staff is courteous. Restaurant has been there a long time. Almost like stepping back in time. Lots of choices from burgers to hot dogs, etc.. Food is prepared to order. Burgers are really good. Onions Rings are delicious. Sweet tea was delicious and refreshing. Prices are very reasonable. Been eating here for YEARS. Best biner-style place in Columbia. Doesn’t matter what you get, just know it going to make your tongue also your teeth. Remember strawberry fanta, and milkshakes at a restaurant? Yeah, welcome back to nostalgia. I recommend the chili cheeseburger, and onion rings, with be a strawberry milkshake. Love it!

Mack’s is like stepping back in time to a place where everything just seems a little better. And we went absolutely overboard, but we had to try a few things too. The burger was great. I can see why it was voted best in Columbia. The sausage dog was perfect. I literally can’t think of anything that could have been better on it. The onion rings were great as well. The truly incredible thing is that all that was still under $15, everything was cooked to order and ready in no time, and the staff was friendly despite the lunch rush (the line was out the door).

Just left Mack’s with an order of fries big enough for 3 people and a drink for less than $5. They’re delicious and downright buttery. The service was so fast even though the place was packed! I would definitely recommend Mack’s Cash & Carry, which btw, takes cards.
