The best thin crust pizza in Southern Illinois. Whole menu is excellent though from sandwiches to cheese bread. Best sauce if you prefer sweeter. Very unique just like the pizza. $10 carryout special Sausage.

After a long day of cabin projects I was treated to dinner at Mackie’s. I have driven by this place many times and never considered stopping. But now, it will be hard to pass without a stop. Some of the BEST pizza I have ever had. We ordered thin crust pepperoni and specially asked for the sweet sauce.
The crust was crispy, cheese melted perfectly and the sauce was out of this world.
We also got the cheesy bread – great. It comes with a side of the sweet sauce.
Now before you think “sweet” as in candy, no! Lightly sweetened Italian marinara sauce. Outstanding.
If you travel through or even near Harrisburg (or Marion, IL) you owe to yourself to get a pie and try it!

I’ve eaten at Mackies most of my life, let’s just say many years. The one amazing aspect is the taste is consistent each and every time!! I can’t say that for almost any other restaurant we ever eat at. Great friendly people each time as well. I would highly recommend their Pizza if you’re in the area. It’s a drive for us but we’ll worth it!!

Ordered to go , they said 20 minutes , about 20 minutes in they brought me a pizza I glanced at it and said there’s no sausage . He took it back and then I proceeded to wait. Waited another 10/15 minutes asked where my pizza was , they gave me the same one that was sitting on the oven and said there was sausage under the cheese……….if there’s sausage I don’t see it nor taste it . Only came here because a friend who grew up here recommended it . I can’t recommend coming back here . I really had high hopes but now just room temp pizza and missing toppings . And the girl at the counter argued with me that it was my fault I gave it back!!!! Seriously… if you can find sausage in the pic let me know .

Out of towners came to hike and decided to explore a local pizza spot. We were more then impressed. We thoroughly enjoyed the garden deep dish which had surprising flavors!! Definitely recommend supporting this tasty local joint!

Rude and Unprofessional. Ordered a stromboli and they gave me sub bread with pizza ingredients. I asked for a refund or a substitution as its clearly not a stromboli and they said that’s how they’ve always made there stromboli. Well they’ve always done it wrong then. They were rude about it and acted like I was wrong. For the staff I hope you read this to educate yourselves.

Mackie’s is my favorite restaurant in Harrisburg. 2 district different pizzas; a grea, crunchy thin crust with robust sauce, and a deep dish with sweet sauce. Both are great in my opinion.
