We liked this place; the service was top-tier. Our waiter was fast, and had excellent customer service.
Food-wise, the ragù could have used a bit more salt, but it was still tasty and the pasta was fresh.
We ordered the pasta made in a cheese wheel and were expecting to see it prepared tableside, as is done in other restaurants, but that didn’t happen. Not the end of the world, the pasta was still very good, but it would have been nice to see the show.
The pizza was thin, really fresh and tasty.
We would go back to try other dishes.

Energetic Italian spot with great prices and amazing pasta!
We had dinner at Macelleria Roma, a very busy and lively Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is friendly and full of energy, and the prices on both food and wine are great. Their specialty is homemade pasta finished in a full cheese rind, which is as delicious as it sounds. Service was excellent too—fast, friendly, and attentive. A fun spot for a satisfying Italian meal in Roma Norte.

We came here a few years ago and had a bad experience but came back now to give it another shot and it did not disappoint! The staff and atmosphere was exceptional. The pasta and friend cauliflower weren’t half bad either! Fair pricing, good portion sizes, good food.

Marcellaria Roma has mastered the art of luring you in from the sidewalk. We weren’t looking for creamy pasta spun inside a cheese wheel, but once they started cooking it right on the street the smell did all the convincing. The tables filled quickly, and before we knew it we were seated. Service was genuinely attentive, the atmosphere comfortable without trying too hard, and the presentation of the pasta show on the street is clever marketing at its best.
The food itself was a mixed bag. The pasta was exactly what you expect when you see the wheel trick—decadent, rich, and heavy—but it leaned too far into buttery richness, even for a dish that’s supposed to be indulgent. It didn’t have the balance or subtle lift that could make a heavy pasta dish feel worth every bite. That said, we added prosciutto to one of the pastas, and the quality of the meat was excellent. It elevated the dish noticeably, turning what felt like a three-star food experience into a four-star one.
In the end, you get what you came for. If you want creamy wheel pasta made with flair in the middle of the street, this is the spot. It’s good, not great, but the experience itself is fun enough to be worth a visit.

I suggest arriving early or making a reservation as it’s a very popular spot. From appetizers to dessert, the food is delicious. If you’re a chocolate lover, the “The Chocolate Bomb” is a true delight.

I did not have a good experience here. Multiple waiters would pass by our table to tend to other customers without acknowledging us. I had to ask them to take our order after waiting about 15-20 minutes. The food was alright, tasted like the pasta was made with canned spaghetti sauce. This place was not cheap, service was not great and still the waiter asked for a tip at the end as we were paying. Not a good experience, will not be going again.

The food is really good, but they totally drop the ball when it comes to service. We were a party of six, in a nearly empty part of the restaurant before lunch rush hour and it took them 45 minutes to get our food. Some dishes were lukewarm by the time we got them. Really disappointing. The restaurant, tables, chairs look faded and old.
