I went to mac ques BBQ, great ribs and Tri trip there for sure, the pulled pork is good. The brisket is ok, it’s not tender and it’s kinda juicy. The Mac n cheese is not great. The naked beans are good but to sweet. The rolls were kinda stale at 6pm. In short it’s worth it but it depends on what you order. DONT get the brisket, DO get the ribs. And the only real bbq sauce you should get there is the spicy one, it’s not really spicy and it gives much more flavor.

Hey Sacramento , if you love BBQ ribs like I do MacQue is that place you want to go to. Affordable, Amazing food and its so damn yummy. What I love the most is there ribs aren’t skimpy like other competitors are. I reside in South Sacramento I faithfully order through Doordash . I have tried countless other spots in Sacramento and all they did was take my money and delivered disappointments, skimpy ribs that looks as if they slaughtered a pig on crack(NO EXAGGERATION) That also includes well known restaurants that are like a chain or franchise . I’d give you a list of those restaurants but why do that if I can just SAY EAT AT MacQue’s BBQ Did I mention they have HAPPY HOUR on their menu EVERY DAY FROM 2PM-5PM (AND I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT DRINKS), the BBQ is what I’m talking about . Check out those prices though!!!!

2cd time here. Food was bomb again
I got the 3-Way , with brisket 10/10 , tri-tip 9.5/10 , home made link hot 8.5/10 w/ baked beans 9.5/10 and potato salad 10/10. I love their HOT bbq sauce.
My significant other got the 2-Way, with bone in chicken she rated it a 9/10 and ribs were rated a 9/10 as well. Her sides were baked beans and the mac and she enjoyed both.
Last time we got the pulled pork as well and it was a 9.5/10 , this place is definitely worth the try!

Ordered for pickup first time. The bag was hella sticky with sauce, I ordered cornbread separately but they forgot the roll. Portion of ribs was generous and tender however I found a hair in my plate nestled in the ribs. Brisket was dry but good with the sauce. Wouldn’t order again.

I was working in the area and had been craving BBQ. I reside in the Pittsburg area. Coming from a family of BBQ’ers I’m always disappointed eating BBQ from outsiders. Well I’m so glad I gave them a try. Walking in the door I knew it was a winner because the smell of BBQ filled the building. The two people I encountered were friendly and because I didn’t get her name I’m going to call her “auntie.” I told auntie my name for online and she got my food and seen what I ordered. Unbeknownst to me I chose the hottest sauce. I mean the picture next to the name was a fire extinguisher! Auntie side eyed me and asked me was I sure about the sauce. That is when I told both I didn’t have a clue I ordered the hottest I just wanted hot. Auntie was a sweetie and gave me some mild sauce. Needless to say I have a story for them! lol The BBQ was the best I’ve had from someone outside my family. I will DEFINITELY be returning!! Meat tender as can be! They serve my favorite…mustard greens!! Oh did I mention the price and portions are great!

Update September 2025: ordered $107 worth of food – 2 full racks of ribs and a full chicken. Very good value and everything was cooked to perfection – everything was tender and moist and perfectly flavored. A small suggestion for management: consider being more generous with the barbecue sauce. I asked for two small sauces to accompany my order and you couldn’t give it to me for free.. leaves a bad taste to be nickel and dimed on a large order. I understand if customers are abusing it but I think my request – two small sauces – was within reason to not be charged extra.

The four-meat platter was very reasonably priced and was absolutely delicious – all the meat was tender and we loved how it was not overly salty to begin with. This allowed us to better enjoy the tasty barbecue sauce. We got tritip, brisket, ribs and chicken and they were all great !! The ribs especially were outstanding and the chicken (dark meat). The staff and manager were very friendly and helpful. We look forward to our next meal here !!

Customer service was great, loved the Sangria but person almost forgot to check my ID. I think it’s because there are teens working there, but they shouldn’t give alcoholic drinks to people who have a to-go order. I ordered, thinking it was just punch. I am of age. Anyway, my brisket didn’t look like how I usually see brisket. It does seem dry when you get it, and you do HAVE to use the sauce. Mac n cheese was delicious. Not a fan of the greens. I was gonna ask for a remake like the previous customer because her brisket came out great, but I heard the worker say they used the last of it on my order for the night. I’m gonna go earlier and show them the “after” picture of the previous reviewer because that’s what brisket should always look like. Giving them a second chance because it wasn’t too bad. Favorite part was the music. Nice, calm vibes.

Ordered half slab of ribs sauce on the side…. Ribs were tough and dry, very salty and tasted day old like they were yesterday’s leftovers no sauce included. I want to purchase a half chicken only sauce on the side (one 2oz cup of sauce for a half chicken… I suppose that is what I would have gotten for a half slab of ribs also) the rude cashier says I can only purchase the chicken dinner so I did… I told the cashier I wanted extra sauce which he didn’t add to my order I circulated 10.00 dollars for sauce!!!! Ridiculous!!!! I left a 3.00 dollar tip which I took back from the rude classless cashier and presented it to the young lady who did all the work. The cashier, who was new to the job which was evident, acted as is he was related to the owners. I’m not sure if he is or isn’t. However, I do know he’s way to comfortable in his arrogance and lack of knowledge of the menu. I’LL NEVER RETURN TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!! There are way to many barbeque establishments where the food is good and service is great….
