Who would have thought of a restaurant that serves all Mac and cheese variations with wines and bourbon? I passed in the bacon Mac and cheese and all the breakfast Mac and cheeses and Pulled pork Mac and cheese. I went for the Mac and cheese grilled sandwich, an incredible twist on this standard kids treat. Awesome. I passed on the bourbon at this early hour

First time going to this place, I got the pesto mac and cheese sandwich and tater totes. I don’t ever try new things that is why I got tater tots just in case and let me tell you that pesto mac and cheese sandwich was so good! Wait time was just a bit long (which it didn’t apply to me as I had a few hours before my flight) so I don’t recommend thinking of it as like fast food, if you have less than thirty minutes to board your plane, unless you’re boarding right next door (San Jose Airport is quiet long) If Im ever in the airport again(which I will be as its my hometown), I’ll definitely grab a sandwich and tots!

Can’t blame the price of food on staffing costs in the Bay area when you don’t staff your a restaurant. I travel a lot for work and I’m at this airport a lot. And I’m always excited to try this restaurant. And every single time, like a goldfish with no memory, I walk way over here to try the food and either there is no one there at all working or he tells me it’s going to be 15 minutes. Nobody has 15 minutes at an airport. When you’re the only one at a restaurant, how is that acceptable?

We tried Mac + Cheese Kitchen and it was a great option for dining with kids at SJC. I tried the Jalapeno Mac & Cheese and the portion was huge! The kids portion is also very generous. They have a lot of toppings/drizzles to customize your meal and even had breakfast options (only served in the AM). Full bar and lots of grab & go options as well.

I think this is a must try at the SJC airport but there are some improvements that can be made. Expect usual airport prices. It was $40.70 for pulled pork Mac and cheese, modelo and loaded tots.
Firstly, I asked for regular tots but got loaded ones which are $10 as opposed to $6. Besides the server who dropped my food off, the staff wasn’t very friendly and welcoming. I think this is particularly disappointing because these are passengers that you may never see again. It’s imperative to make a lasting impression.
The food was actually tasty. It had large noodles. The pulled pork sandwich had both good flavor and good texture. I didn’t sense a smoked smell from it. Good roux and not too thick or runny. It’s a decent portion. I didn’t finish it.
The loaded Tots came with bacon, jalapeño, and creamy cheese sauce. The tots were not very crispy and it was completely overcome by the toppings. This made it a mushy mess unfortunately. But again, it did have good seasoning so I gave it a pass. Good size portion again but probably not worth $10 IMO outside of the airport.
Modelo was cold and crisp. Nothing more to add except it really hit the spot.
Ambience was fairly quiet. There’s 3 televisions above the bar. Plenty of cocktail drinks to order but only 8 seats at the bar itself. There are 4 other seats inside and 10 seats outside.
The staff is very unprofessional. The manager argued with another employee about giving a customer a complimentary item due to a payment issue. This is a huge turnoff.
Further, I was left unattended from 5:13 at my time of order until 6pm when I left. So there isn’t much follow up or checking during the visit. This is why asking for a tip at the POS is a red flag. No service was provided. Everyone was busy doing things. They pulled a cart of items into the tiny restaurant/ bar area to unload it at 530p. This was inconvenient for customers.
Quality 3/5
Time to be acknowledged 5/5
Time to be served 5/5
Customer service 2/5

Great Mac& cheese, doomed for failure. Has table QR code ordering, but they won’t bring it to the table, instead yelling an order number from the kitchen, which of course no one knows. My one item order was incorrect. My drink order didn’t come. I asked the kitchen and they went to the bar to find it. Somebody finally came out, but didn’t know who ordered it. Woefully mismanaged

Perfect meal to have before a flight. Tasty but not too heavy. I got the bbq pulled pork mac and it has a good amount of meat, felt like a decent value for airport food. Will probably visit again next time I’m there!

I decided to eat here prior to my flight. They were very short handed and the guy taking orders was also prepping food in the back. My food rolled out of their rolling oven and literally sat there for 10 minutes. I ordered the green chili chicken Mac and cheese with an order of loaded tots and specifically asked for “No onions”. The guy who was multi tasking cooking food and running the register said: “The tots don’t come with onions” “not even our loaded tots come with onions”. Even though the menu said they did, I took his word for it. I’ve attached a pic of my loaded Mac and cheese with no onions. I didn’t take them back because I feared it would take another 10 minutes to remake them. The food was blah! The tots were good, minus the onions and then they got soggy really fast. So, if you are ever in Terminal B at the San Jose airport, save your money and eat somewhere else.

Gluten free classic Mac & cheese and Gluten free chicken pesto Mac, absolutely fabulous! It’s at the end of the terminal but very worth it!!! Bar with great service!

For a place that specialises in Mac & Cheese, this was likely some of the worst Mac & cheese I’ve ever had. Painfully average beyond description, the staff and service was cold and distant, and the review that says this is a must try in SJC airport couldn’t be further from the truth.
