1st time visiting this restaurant but it was Small restaurant with a family feel to it. Our Fish/Shrimp and Fries were made fresh and seasoned wonderfully. The owner was super friendly and the customer service was top-tier. The prices are also reasonably priced. It was worth making the 35 mile drive and believe me we will be returning.

⚠️ LONG DETAILED REVIEW ⚠️ I was surprised to see so few reviews & pictures. So I’m about to add a lot. This was my first time eating here. I absolutely LOVED all the plants and greenery. I was greeted when I came in. Everyone was friendly and helped me and my little brother get seated and offered to let us sit outside. (Which, of course I wanted to do.) Our waitress was very friendly and personalable and checked on us frequently. She forgot that I ordered sweet potato fries, but went and got me some. My coke was flat and was not enjoyable to drink. So I got my water out of the car. She also forgot to give my little brother bbq sauce until after he ate his steak fingers. But besides those small hiccups, the atmosphere was enjoyable. The staff was friendly. And the food IMPECCABLE!!!! Absolutely delicious. We were going to eat at another restaurant but when I passed this one, it looked so inviting. We glanced at the menu online and made the hasty decision to eat here instead. And boy, we sure was glad we did. My only complaint is there is NO chocolate dessert on the menu. Hopefully, that will change. I highly recommend eating here. Thank you Mabel’s family and staff for having us. We would certainly eat here again.

We just tried Mabels for the first time and let me tell you it was delicious! we ordered fried pickles for our appetizer and they were fresh out of the oil and so delicious! the pickles were crunchy and they were lightly breaded which we prefer. they were greasy but that’s to be expected when they’re fresh. I ordered the fish and chips and it was my first time having haddock, it was a large piece and was very crispy and delicious. I do prefer catfish but that’s a personal preference and nothing to do with Mabels. My husband ordered a medium chicken tender meal and it came with so many he has a whole meal left over! The tenders breading was delicious in flavor and the chicken itself was very tender. The fries were so soft and warm as well! Our server was very attentive and made our experience great! While the food was pricy, the portions and taste definitely made it worth it to us! We can’t wait to go back and I will be recommending this place to many of my friends and family! So glad to have another small business in town and one that’s very delicious as well!

Best restaurant in Harris County! We were staying at Callaway Gardens for the weekend and wanted to try a local spot for dinner so we stopped at Mabels since it was right down the road. And we were not disappointed. Our waitress, Mary, set the tone right away with a friendly greeting, and our experience only got better from there. She kindly talked us thru the menu options, making suggestions, and we ordered drinks and apps. We started with fried pickles which were some of the best we’ve had. For entrees our family ordered the burger, chicken tenders, and butterflied shrimp. It was all excellent. The chicken tenders were huge and juicy, the shrimp were bigger and better than we expected, and the 8 oz burger seemed much larger than advertised. Mary was kind enough to bring us some of their biscuits as well – which were melt in your mouth delicious. Even the side salad and hush puppies are worth mentioning. Overall experience was a 10 out of 10, but of course I can only give 5 stars here. Cannot say enough about the excellent service we received from Mary. Highly recommend this place to everyone staying at Callaway Gardens!

Hubby got the catfish filet with hushpuppies and fries. He mentioned several time that they were all excellent! I had a salad and it was really fresh. The only thing missing was crackers for the salad. The waitress stated they only have oyster crackers. We will definitely make a return visit soon.

A group of us get together once a week to have lunch locally and sit and chat for a while. This week we tried out this newly opened restaurant. It was simple to have a table ready just by calling ahead. Most of us had the shrimp basket and it was wonderful, I had enough to take some home. I wasn’t aware that you had to order at the counter at lunch but they we able to explain that to us and they brought us out of food to the table. We will be going back to have lunch again soon. Every one was very nice and inviting.

My family and I had a great experience at this restaurant! The hand-battered chicken fingers were amazing crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can tell they put real care into making them. We also tried the Cowboy Sauce, and it was incredible! It added the perfect kick and paired perfectly with the chicken.
The staff was friendly, the service was good, and the atmosphere was clean and welcoming. It was a great spot for a family meal, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone who loves quality chicken fingers!

They have fixed the place up very and the food was great. I had Butterfly shrimp meal, the place, totally remodeled, much better than The Old House oyster house. The owners were nice. They put a lot of work into this place. So go check it out. We need more restaurants like this like this in pine mountain Ga! The shrimp was fried but they will also grill it for you as well.

Got take out … The Mabel’s Burger. the burger was overcooked even though I asked for medium .the bacon on the burger was soft and hardly cooked.the fries weren’t even crispy I ordered the fries and burger and a large sweet tea all for a total of 25 $ even though they’re online menu says 13.99 for the burger and fries. Even though the drink wasn’t included which I’m guessing by the total it wasn’t the price altogether shouldn’t have been $25 food and atmosphere definitely not worth the experience or money
