MAAZI Hoi An Restaurant – Unique Dining in Hoi An, Vietnam
Reviews
Desserts at Mazzi were equally impressive — the gulab jamun was soft, sweet, and indulgent, rounding off the meal perfectly. What really stood out, besides the fantastic food, was the attentive and friendly service. The staff made us feel welcome and ensured that everything went smoothly, adding to the overall wonderful experience.
Whether you’re craving authentic Indian cuisine while traveling or simply looking for a place with high-quality dishes and excellent service, Mazzi Hoi An is a must-visit. The combination of delicious food, warm service, and inviting atmosphere makes it one of the best dining experiences in Hoi An. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
We ordered two of their signature curries — the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken — along with some Butter Naan to share. The food arrived quickly, well-presented, and with generous portions, which already gave a good impression.
The Chicken Tikka Masala had a nice, rich flavor and the sauce was thick and aromatic, but it turned out to be spicier than expected, even though we specifically asked for it to be mild. The spice level wasn’t unbearable, but it did overpower some of the subtle flavors that make the dish so good when done perfectly. That said, you could still tell it was well-prepared, and fans of spicy food would probably enjoy it.
The Butter Chicken, on the other hand, was excellent — creamy, buttery, and full of flavor without being spicy. The chicken pieces were tender and cooked just right, and the sauce had that smooth, slightly sweet taste that makes this dish such a favorite. It was perfectly balanced and easily the highlight of our meal. If you visit MAAZI, I’d definitely recommend ordering this one.
We also had Butter Naan, and it was exactly what you’d hope for — soft, warm, and just slightly crispy on the edges. It paired beautifully with both curries, soaking up the sauce and enhancing every bite. The portion size was good, and everything felt freshly made.
The service was quick and attentive. The staff were friendly, polite, and made sure everything came out in good time. Even though the restaurant was fairly busy, they managed to keep things running smoothly. You can tell the team is experienced and used to handling both local and international guests.
In terms of price, it’s quite reasonable for what you get. The quality of the food, the portion sizes, and the overall dining experience make it good value for money. You won’t leave hungry, and everything feels made with care rather than rushed.
The ambiance is relaxed and comfortable — modern but still cozy, with soft lighting and a nice layout that makes it easy to enjoy your meal without feeling cramped. It’s suitable for both couples and small groups.
Overall, MAAZI Hoi An is a solid option for Indian cuisine in the heart of Hoi An. The Butter Chicken is a must-try, the Butter Naan complements it perfectly, and while the Chicken Tikka Masala was a bit too spicy for our liking, it was still flavorful and well-made.
Delicious food, fast service, fair prices, and the convenience of late opening hours make this restaurant absolutely worth a visit.
We tried the Indian masala chai and ginger tea – both were served piping hot, perfect for the rainy weather.
For snacks, we had samosa and masala papad, which tasted fresh and never felt like frozen food. We even went back for a late-night dinner, having Dhal kichdi and the owner along with the staff were friendly and happy to serve us, which made the experience even better.
Good food, warm hospitality, and very reasonable Indian prices – definitely a must-visit in Hoi An
There was a rather odd guest at the next table who loudly complained that the meat wasn’t prepared the right way. Honestly, his comments were completely baseless. My dish was excellent, and the quality was undeniable.
If you happen to see a negative review popping up in the next few hours, just know it likely came from that same guest – and it says more about him than it does about this wonderful restaurant. Some people have unrealistic expectations and just want to make noise.
Don’t let that distract you. This place is absolutely worth visiting – I’ll definitely be coming back!
We enjoyed the samosa chat, chicken Rogan Josh, garlic naan and masala fries and polished off every last bite! The food was authentic and delicious
