A step back into simpler times at a true diner. We had dinner here before heading to the Oriental Theater, just down the street. The menu is extensive with a wide variety of offerings and includes something for everyone. Window booths, a dessert glass case, and lots of food identify Ma Fischer’s as the real deal. You don’t just order a French Dip, you get soup, a side, with the entree, giving you almost too much food to eat in one sitting. (We took home plenty for another meal!).
The servers were efficient and took good care of us, making sure we got what we asked for and doing it quickly. The food was good, although my French Dip was a bit salty. The soup is filled with good flavors, and I can see why this place has been around for nearly 100 years of service.
Although I did not use the restrooms, the overall restaurant is accessible.
You don’t mess with a winning style. The pricing is really reasonable, and we enjoyed ourselves as we headed on to our next location

The food and staff are great! I enjoyed sitting by the window and watching the passersby. We had chili, chicken and dumplings, an omelet with fried potatoes and a Reuben on marbled rye. All very good choices. We also bought two baklavas at the register as we checked out – pass on those: quite dry and a bit past their prime. The place is clean and has a good vibe. The noise level is quiet and makes it easy to converse (unless you’re unlucky to have a loud, misbehaved child yelling and throwing themselves on the back of your seat )
We definitely recommend Ma Fisher’s!

I went in for breakfast this morning because it is my birthday and I wanted to celebrate with my friends. Our server was so awesome and nice, he was very helpful and patient, and even drew me a little doodle on our receipt. very magical and awesome, will be making this a yearly tradition.

My husband and I used to love going to the George Webb’s on Oakland Avenue, but once that closed we were left looking for another diner that could give us the simple yet delicious breakfast options we wanted. That’s when I remembered the classic east side Ma Fischer’s. It had been years since I’d been there, but she did not disappoint. We had the Ma’s Special #1 and Ma’s Special #2, which were both delicious and hit the spot. This place remains cozy with a great mix of patrons, good service and hardy food served quickly. As bummed as I am that Webbs is gone, I am glad that Ma Fisher’s remains a constant choice for a solid, at home feel breakfast.

First time visitor of this place, as of last night! For a Tuesday, it was pretty quiet inside, but the place was super tidy, our waitress was excellent, the beers ice-cold, and the food was hot and hit the spot! Bonus points for the host/frontroom guy also being super cool and looking like my favorite Czech musician 5/5 stars! Will be back for more beer and comfort food!

Went around dinner time with my daughter who told me this place is a Milwaukee fixture. We were seated right away and our server was quite attentive. The restaurant was clean.
My daughter had the Hangover skillet with sausage gravy; I had the turkey club with chicken dumpling soup. The sandwich was good as was the soup. The hangover skillet was good as well. I would return.

It was an unplanned decision to go their, but I was pleasantly surprised from the moment we walked, greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our waiter took our orders, French toast was divine! Great coffee, great place. I recommend.

Honestly the food is mid but filling , but I’m not too much of a fan of not getting my own recipe we had to take a photo of their copy but when I ordered on the Phone the lady told me I will have my own copy of recipe! And I added things up (prices ) and I get a total different number .. the prices online are not accurate, pancakes (tall) are 11.95 when they are 10.95$ I feel over charged to be honest. I’m just very shaded out / sus out and I will not be returning…
