So crazy story I been going there since I was a kid I’m 39 now. They had a cousin who had a food truck in new orleans i was so glad cause it saved me a trip. One day he was driving i spotted the name I got in front of him and stopped. Hey aren’t these from woodville he said yes and we was locked in i know longer had to drive 2 hours. He recently passed away so now back to woodville I will drive. Been eating from them for over 30 years

These tamales are insanely good. I bought a dozen, which was probably a bit too many but no regrets. They have just a little bit of spice and generous meat inside. I was just driving through town, but I’m so glad I stopped here.

Y’ALL THEY GOOD. A little bit of Mexican and a whole lotta soul. The tamales were hot, flavorful, and moist. Packed with a good ratio of meat inside.
Friendly service. Picnic seating. Do not pass it up!

Well, the food is to go only unless you’re willing to set outside at the table and fight flies. The tamales were good, but I prefer more meat on mine. This was excellent for my family, who is use to eating them. Me not so much, can’t get past the mill taste.

Great spot. Whenever I visit from Texas, I come here. Always fresh and hot. The only problem was when we parked, it’s huge rocks in front of driveway. My cousin fell down on her back after tripping over it. I got out to help her and almost fell over another rock to the side. The cashier saw everything and just watched in shock. My cousin proceeded to move the rocks to the far side, away from vehicles. Later we passed by and they removed all of the rocks. After all that, they said they didn’t have forks. I’m thinking it’s 5 of us buying multiple bundles and no plastic ware? I asked again and magically they had another one. Terrible customer service but great food.

My father and I were doing a family history trip to Woodville and came across this amazing spot. The owner and her family make absolutely amazing tamales out of the most unassuming space. They are so sweet and will answer any and all questions you may have about the area and the history of tamales in her family.
Honestly this was maybe four years ago and I still will think about how good these tamales were on random nights. If you are visiting the area please do yourself a favor and set aside a little time to go here and make sure to LOAD up on them cause they keep in the freezer very well and are easy as can be to reheat! Just make sure to ask the owner how she recommends heating and serving!

Tamales are very, very good. Anytime we travel to Baton Rouge we stop and buy a few dozen. They freeze well also.

Great tamales, loved that you could eat them directly in front of the store on a wooden bench! Recommend 10/10
