M & J’s is a family owned business that does “Fresh” Southern cooking. We pride ourselves in our food & quality. We have fresh fried foods all day. The salad bar is cut new everyday. Trust me all the food is as fresh & as homemade as can be. My dad, brother, myself & trained seasoned staff come in to put the best product on the bar that we can. M & J’s takes great pride in our food & service. We are known for all our food; however, I really like our fried chicken, fried green tomatoes & fried whole catfish. Got there at 10:55 and folks were already lining up at the door before they opened at 11:00, so you know it’s good.
$13.00 even for lunch buffet and drink included. I went today for the Salisbury steak and meatloaf that’s advertised in other Google reviews, but idk if I just somehow missed it but there was no meatloaf, so slightly distraught over that. But the Salisbury steak and gravy did make up for it. And they even had rutabagas! No one does, and that is hands downs my favorite side anytime.
Everything was delicious, hot, and filling. There was also someone up there cleaning up the stations and checking each dish virtually the whole time I was there.
I went alone and didn’t feel out of place, as there were also several other solo diners.
For what you get, 10/10 recommend, and 100% worth more than what you pay.

Great place to eat good home style menu the whiting fish is great nice batter breading good crisp texture good crunch. The macaroni could use an over haul looks good but not much in the flavor. Greens are tasty nicely seasoned. Chicken pieces are nice and meaty. Staff are very attentive hard working ladies.buffet gets constant attention never saw and empty pan . Sweet tea is wonderful. I’ve been here several times each visit busy or slow food quality overall is on point.

Better than one would expect for a $13 buffet. What stood out to me was the service and the friendliness of the staff as a whole.
I’m not going to lie – I didn’t enjoy the food but I’m not a fan of anything with a sneeze shield. What I can say is that it’s freshly cooked and they do a good job of ensuring the buffet is replenished. If you like buffet food or are on a fixed income and want reasonably priced food – this is likely a good choice. It’s just not my thing.

We visited this restaurant for dinner. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I love how they recognize their regulars. Love the small town feel.
The buffet is clean and staff come around to make sure that any spills are addressed quickly. Although the food isn’t outstanding, it’s always fresh and there’s plenty. I am fond of the dressing. It’s always next to the peach cobbler which is a strange spot. They do offer gloves to use at the buffet although most people don’t use them. It is a cozy little country place.

I have ate here before and the food has been excellent for a buffet. But this time I got the ribs and fried chicken and both were overcooked. I know that the food gets dry if it sits for a while, but I was standing there when fresh chicken was put out and I made sure I got a piece of that. Unfortunately it was dry to the point of no juices in it. I do have to say that all the vegetables, fruit and desserts was very good.

It’s cheap, it’s a buffet, lower your expectations… For what it is, they do it well. They are nice folks and are attentive at replenishing the food and utensils, removing your used dishes, and refilling your drink. Vegetables are from a can, and all the food has so much sodium you’d better find a restroom 30-45mins after you leave… and stay there for a while! Most of the patrons here were coughing, hacking, snorting, and blowing their noses. Great place to boost the old immune system!

This place is always packed, so we decided to check it out. They offer a daily menu in their buffet style restaurant. Fairly priced and the food is good (only item I didn’t like was the baked chicken because it was a little dry). Definitely a good spot to check out if you’re craving some southern “home style” food. They also have a salad bar and dessert buffet portion. Plenty of parking available, no outdoor seating.

If you don’t shy away from buffets and love home cooking, then this place is for you. Simple concept. Walk in, pay ($13 for the lunch buffet and a drink), find a table, then fill your plate. Plenty to choose from and it was all great and tasted pretty close to what I’d make at home. Wasn’t super crowded considering it was lunch time, but plenty of folks to let me know the place was going to be decent. I don’t get to Carrollton often, but when I do I will definitely be going back. The two other people with me also raved about the food.
