What truly made the night unforgettable, though, was the staff. They were beyond amazing warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We tried getting a last-minute table, and they went out of their way to accommodate me and my friends without making us feel rushed or like an inconvenience. That level of hospitality is rare and so appreciated.
From the atmosphere to the service to the overall vibe, everything was perfect. It turned into such a special night for us, and we’ll definitely be back. LUPO gave us an unforgettable experience 10/10 recommend!
We started off the night with 2 Frozen Peach Bellinis and 2 Bellini Sodas and we’re all very happy with our choice of drink. We split an order of Fried Mozza Sticks it comes with 2 sticks and we split them between 4 people as a mini appetizer while we waited for our meals. They were delicious and the only other thing I could say about them is that I wish there were more.
Our waiter was phenomenal and helped guide us in choosing some phenomenal dishes. He immediately sold me on my dish of choice the Agnolotti and I cannot recommend the Agnolotti enough it’s amazing was my favorite dish. Our table ordered the Agnolotti, Mafaldine Al Limone, Roseline, and the Lobster Gnocchi (was a special not on menu). They’re listed in a ranking of what I would order again. The Roseline is an old recipe (50 or so years old) from a previous local restaurant that is no longer around.
We took a order of Tiramisu to go and it was the only thing I didn’t quite love out of the whole experience.
We were looking for a pasta place and stumbled across LUPO so booked a table for later in the day. The restaurant is light, open and airy located up a set of stairs. We were nestled in a corner at the back of the restaurant and sat perpendicular to each other which worked out great for sharing food.
The saffron radiatori was our stand out dish, the flavours were great and we said that we could easily come back and eat that again the next day – the highlight of the whole meal.
We also had the spicy meatballs which were really tasty.
The cocktails went down very nicely, as did the tiramisu which was demolished very quickly.
As others have said in their reviews, the service is always what takes it up a notch. From the moment we stepped in to the moment we left we felt welcome and at ease. The waiter explained the whole menu to us, along with the drinks and any offers they had on.
I’d recommend booking a table before you come as when we were there many people were queuing for walk ins – you can book a table online on the day and you will be fine.
Side note: the bathroom soap smells fantastic and we went and bought some from Rocky afterwards.
The Morty pizza was incredible. I don’t know if the crust is sourdough or what, but it has that kind of flavor and texture and it’s just so good.
The raclette agnolotti was absolutely phenomenal. Super rich, and just packed with flavor. One of those dishes we will be thinking about for a long time.
The only thing I wouldn’t recommend was the prosciutto dish. If I’m paying around $30 for prosciutto, I kind of just want high quality prosciutto that stands alone for its flavor — not topped with fruit. But that was the only thing that felt off. Otherwise, truly outstanding meal. Would absolutely go back.
We started with the Caesar salad, which was quite anchovy-forward (we usually prefer a more garlicky one, but that’s just personal taste). The drinks, however, were out of this world, and the service was top-notch — friendly, attentive, and efficient.
Overall, LUPO delivers good Italian food in the heart of Banff with a lively atmosphere and fantastic cocktails. Would definitely return next time we’re in town (especially because the service was the better of all we had over our stay).
For mains, we had the spicy vodka pasta and pesto campanelle, and both were amazing.
Craig, our server, was fantastic — friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back!
The fresh pasta was delicious, served piping hot… as it should be. Salads we freshly prepared and you could see they took some care in their preparation. They were surprisingly large, we couldn’t finish them. . . we wanted to save room for the pasta. Service was very good, and the atmosphere was perfect. We had the Caprese, and Tuscan Caesar salads. For pasta we chose the Spaghetti Cacio E Pepe, and the Seafood Linguine. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. Didn’t have room for any desert
Price point was high, but this is the norm now, and worth it in this case. Will definitely be returning
